Cycling jerseys

- Weather jerseys bridge the gap between long-sleeved jerseys and rain jackets and are particularly suitable for temperatures of 5–15 degrees during the transitional season.
- The test winner is the Maap Pro Race Jacket (score 1.3), followed by the Sportful Fiandre Shift Jacket (1.4) and the Castelli Do.Di.Ci. Jacket.
- GripGrab offers the best value for money, Bioracer provides robust weather protection at the lowest price, whilst Q36.5 scores highly for its minimal weight.

Weather-resistant jerseys in the BIKE test: 11 models for trail riding, touring and the in-between seasons

- The MAAP Pro Race Jacket offers a test-winning combination of excellent weather protection, comfort and well-thought-out features for sporting activities.
- A close-fitting cut, practical weight, a lined collar, a silicone hem, a double zip, a pocket and reflective elements make it ideal for long rides.
- Despite its high price of 285 euros, it is regarded as one of the most impressive solutions for frequent rides in cold, windy and wet conditions.

MAAP Pro Race Jacket in the BIKE test: Test winner for challenging conditions

- The Bioracer Tempest Protect offers very high protection against wind and wet conditions, and is suitable for cool, changeable conditions in autumn and spring.
- Sporty, rather slim fit (rating 1.8); careful size selection is required, particularly for cyclists who fall between two sizes or are wearing extra layers.
- Weighing 285 g and with an overall rating of 1.7, it’s not exactly a lightweight, but it offers a comprehensive range of features and strong weather protection at a moderate price (€139).

Bioracer Speedwear jersey in the BIKE test: Excellent weather protection at a fair price

- The Castelli Do.Di.Ci. Jacket offers excellent wind protection, high breathability and a sporty fit for intense rides in the transitional seasons.
- In the BIKE test, it achieved an overall score of 1.4, excelling in weather protection, weight and comfort, but is not designed for prolonged rain.
- Its weaknesses lie in the reflective details, whilst its strengths include its light weight, wide range of sizes and varied colour options for sporty mountain bikers.

Castelli Do.Di.Ci. Jacket in the BIKE test: Excellent weather protection for ambitious mountain bikers

- Lightweight MTB weatherproof jacket (5–15 °C) with a Polartec AirCore membrane, strong wind protection and water-repellent properties, but not a hardshell for continuous rain.
- Excellent test results: top mark of 1.0 for weather protection, 1.3 for comfort, 1.5 for weight/pack size; weighs just 225 g in size L, ideal for sporting activities.
- Close-fitting cut with freedom of movement, two-way zip, secure back pockets, available in many colours, but the lack of reflective elements is a drawback.

Sportful Fiandre Shift Jacket in the BIKE test: Lightweight, weatherproof and versatile

- Thermal jacket with merino wool and windproof panels, designed for temperatures of 5–15 °C, combining temperature regulation, breathability and durability.
- Top mark of 1.1 for fit and comfort, good features and weather protection (mark 2.0), ideal for cool rides in autumn and spring.
- Weaknesses: heavy (380 g, rating 3.5), bulky when packed, only available in black, making it less ideal for longer rides in the rain.

Santini Redux Thermo Jacket in the BIKE test: a comfort specialist for chilly days

- Close-fitting race jersey with an excellent fit (mark 1.3), a sporty cut and a well-thought-out combination of materials for cool, wet conditions.
- Very good, though not fully waterproof, weather protection (rating 2.0); high level of comfort, but a tight, cropped cut with a tricky sizing guide.
- High price (€280), comparatively heavy and few reflective elements; overall rating 1.9 and particularly suitable for sporty cyclists in autumn/winter.

Pas Normal Studios Thermal Jersey in the BIKE test: Race fit for chilly trail days

- Short-sleeved, three-layer Rain Shell Aero Jersey with arm warmers, designed for sporty cyclists, high-intensity riding and variable weather conditions.
- Weighing 205 g (size L, including arm warmers), this is the lightest model in the test; race fit; score of 1.0 for weight/pack size, 1.6 for fit, 2.0 for weather protection.
- Minimalist design with no pockets, two-way zip, premium price of 250 euros; suitable for sporty rides rather than continuous rain.

Q36.5 Rain Shell Aero Jersey in the BIKE test: a lightweight option for changeable conditions

- Close-fitting, stretchy cut with a silicone waistband; rated 1.5 for fit; ideal for sporty mountain bikers on long rides.
- Reliable weather protection, rated 2.0, for cool, changeable conditions; an additional rain jacket is recommended in the event of prolonged rain.
- Extensive features, weight 295 g, price 140 euros, top mark of 1.0 for functionality and features, overall mark of 1.8 and best value for money.

GripGrab Pacr Thermo Jersey in the BIKE test: a great value-for-money choice for chilly MTB rides

- For autumn trail rides, helmet liners and generously sized mudguards and rear mudflaps are recommended to protect against draughts and mud.
- Waterproof, ankle-high flat-pedal shoes, worn with merino socks, should keep your feet warm, dry and protected.
- A reinforced winter jersey and lined, water-repellent gloves provide extra insulation for the torso, arms and fingers.

Autumn gear for mountain bikers: Warm kit for chilly days on the trail

- RCR range: slim-fitting PRO-FIT cut for sporty rides, with a focus on speed; bib tights and jackets suitable for temperatures of around 8 degrees to wintry conditions.
- EDR range: for longer distances, offering extra warmth, weather protection and plenty of pockets; for example, the men’s version of the EDR jacket features ten pockets.
- Some women’s models feature the BackEase system; prices range from 45 to 80 euros depending on the product, with several colour options available for some items.

Van Rysel Collection: Cycling clothing for autumn and winter

- Fluffy thermal fabric, a comfortable fit and high breathability make this jersey ideal for cool, dry autumn and spring days.
- The lack of a wind- and water-repellent membrane results in poor weather protection (score 4.0); additional protection against wind or rain is recommended.
- Overall rating 2.8: very good comfort (1.6), basic features (3.0) and a comparatively affordable price of €139.95 for comfort-oriented cyclists.
