A wasp sting on his lip recently forced Tom Pidcock to take an unplanned break from training. TOUR editor Leon Weidner also experienced first-hand, whilst out doing sport, just how unpleasant an encounter with these black-and-yellow insects can be. Wasps are particularly active again in late summer and early autumn. For cyclists, this can quickly turn into a painful and risky incident when travelling at high speed.
