Children's & youth bikes

- The woom EXPLORE BOOST is a lightweight children’s e-bike with a 123 Wh battery, available in 20, 24 and 26-inch sizes for children approximately 115–165 cm tall, from January 2027.
- Designed for everyday use and the journey to school: lightweight, removable USB-C battery, ‘Hill-Kill’ extra boost on inclines; not a traditional e-MTB.
- Simplified, child-friendly controls on the bike, with parental control via an app to set speed limits, select riding modes and adjust the level of assistance.

- The XPro Digga CroMo is a 26-inch dirt bike with a steel frame and a 100 mm suspension fork; it costs 1,099 euros and is assembled in Bavaria.
- Compact geometry (reach and chainstays both 385 mm, head angle 69.5°) is designed to offer agility, control and suitability for riders 135 cm and taller.
- High-quality, robust components, including a Manitou Circus Expert fork, Shimano Deore crankset and XPro’s own parts, are designed to make it ‘ready to ride’ for tough off-road use.

Children's & youth bikes

- Nulane Rookie One: Children’s gravel bike with flat handlebars, 11.6 kg, wide tyres and disc brakes; designed for the journey to school, touring and gravel riding.
- Flat handlebars, 45 mm tyres and hydraulic disc brakes offer control, safety and a reasonable level of comfort, but less off-road capability than MTBs.
- The 1x9 drivetrain with a 40-tooth chainring and an 11–46 cassette is a bit stiff on climbs; the XXS frame is suitable for riders from approx. 140 cm; plenty of mounting points for mudguards and a luggage rack.

Cube Nulane Rookie One: A fast children’s bike for sport-oriented rides and everyday use

- Affordable aluminium hardtail (€899) with a RockShox air fork, 12-speed drivetrain, disc brakes and everyday-ready features, ideal for touring and beginners.
- Very short reach and long chainstays ensure excellent tracking and climbing ability, but reduce agility and a playful riding experience.
- The bike’s heavy weight, rigid seatpost, basic components and tyres with poor grip limit enjoyment and safety on challenging trails.

Cube Attention SLX review: an entry-level hardtail for 899 euros

- Giant STP 24 FS: a robust 24-inch trail hardtail for children, featuring a 100 mm suspension fork, wide tyres, disc brakes and a dropper seatpost, ideal for off-road riding and bike parks
- Weighing 12.25 kg and fitted with a 9-speed drivetrain, it is of limited suitability for touring; its strengths lie clearly in downhill riding on trails, jumps and with an ambitious riding style
- The air suspension fork can be fine-tuned well for riders weighing around 20 kg or more, offering a high level of safety; the dropper post is easy for children to operate, though the brake levers are a little long for small hands

Giant STP 24 FS children’s bike: an affordable fun machine for young MTB riders

- Lightweight children’s MTB with an aluminium frame, rigid fork, wide 24" x 2.1 tyres and hydraulic disc brakes, suitable for easy forest trails.
- The geometry, featuring a slack head angle, low step-through height and a child-friendly cockpit, is designed to offer safety and control for children.
- Good, child-friendly features, but when comparing price, performance and weight, competitors offer lighter and, in some cases, better-equipped models.

Eurobike Award 2026: Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Innovations

- Inexpensive hardtail for 500 euros with modern, flat geometry, well-made aluminium frame and large dealer network, but high overall weight.
- Outdated 2x8 drivetrain, heavy bike (14.7 kg) and narrow house tyres significantly slow down efficiency, comfort and climbing characteristics.
- Weak SR Suntour suspension fork and small Shimano brake discs reduce control; suitable for easy tours, less for ambitious sport.

The Cube Aim One in review: MTB hardtail for 499 euros

- Mountain biking is booming, but there is a lack of structured opportunities for young talent and training areas in organised sport in Germany.
- Clubs and associations are organising qualifying races, school partnerships and technical training, but are struggling with a lack of volunteers and bureaucracy.
- Compared to France, Switzerland and the UK, Germany invests little in structures for young MTB talent and relies heavily on volunteers.

Promoting young talent in MTB sport: Germany must do more

- Stoll is entering the children's MTB market with the Nextgen series, offering lightweight carbon hardtails from 150 cm in height.
- The Nextgen 29 Silver we tested weighs 9.7 kg, is equipped to a high standard, but is comparatively expensive at around 3440 euros.
- The geometry and parts are clearly aimed at junior racers and are convincing in cross country, but show their limits on very steep or rough terrain.

Stoll Nextgen 29 hardtail review: children's MTB from the lightweight construction expert from 8.1 kg

- VPace Matz 29C: lightweight carbon children's hardtail (9.7 kg) with 29" wheels, 100 mm suspension travel, for cross-country racing from 150 cm tall.
- Child-friendly ergonomics with thin grips, short children's cranks, steering stop limiter and Magura MT8 brakes with short levers for small hands.
- Geometry with a slack 68° steering angle, low bottom bracket, 430 mm chainstays and 74° seat angle combines smoothness, efficiency and easy handling; high price, sometimes little traction.

- Propain will be the title sponsor and main partner of the OMV Cup in Upper Swabia from the 2026 season.
- The OMV Cup is aimed at children, young people and hobby riders, with formats such as Flowduro, XC, Pumptrack and Eliminator.
- The aim of the partnership is to strengthen the regional promotion of young MTB talent and to attract new target groups to the sport.
