The Haibike All Mtn CF SE - the top model in the new All-Mountain series with Bosch motors - not only shines with the red accents on the fork and frame, but also with its particularly balanced riding characteristics. Can this comfort wonder also cope with sporty off-road use? And how does it fare in the High-end all-mountain shootout against Rocky Mountain's Instinct and Cannondale's Moterra Neo? We were able to test the e-bike extensively.

Riding comfort has always been a strength of the e-bike pioneers from Schweinfurt. Haibike realised early on that generous suspension travel on an e-MTB doesn't just make sense on fast enduro bikes. After all, with 160 millimetres of comfortably tuned suspension travel, you can not only ride fast downhill, but also glide over rough gravel in a seated position without risking a slipped disc. This, in combination with the upright geometry, has long earned Haibike the reputation of building bikes primarily for relaxed touring riders. The new Bosch top model All Mtn CF SE is not a bike for this target group. At least not primarily. Like its Namesake with Yamaha engine the new All Mountain with Bosch drive also shows surprisingly sporty aspirations, downhill qualities and modern geometry.

Frame and equipment of the Haibike All Mtn CF SE E-MTB

The centrepiece of the Haibike All Mtn CF SE is the newly developed frame. Haibike combines a carbon main frame with an aluminium rear triangle. The long 750 watt-hour battery of the Bosch Smart System is not folded forwards out of the down tube in the traditional way, but can be removed from the frame in the same way as on an aluminium frame. Specialiseds Levo or Canyons Spectral:On downwards out of the frame. However, Haibike attaches great importance to user-friendliness and has designed the frame and battery cover in such a way that the battery can also be removed when the bike is lying on its side. The bike does not have to be turned upside down for this, but the display and controls are happy about it.

The battery is removed from the bottom of the Haibike. To do this, loosen a bolt with the multitool, slide off the cover and pull out the battery. In practice, this can be done in a few simple steps and even without turning the bike over.

The most important details about the All Mnt CF SE.

Otherwise, the Haibike has a lot of familiar features. The Schweinfurt-based company relies on a large 29-inch wheel at the front and a slightly smaller 27.5-inch wheel at the rear. The wide 2.6-inch tyres at the rear are designed to provide comfort and traction, while Haibike relies on a classic four-link system for the suspension of the All Mtn CF SE. The geometry can be adjusted via a flip chip on the lower shock mount. However, Haibike recommends the slacker factory setting.

The Haibike All Mtn CF SE on the trail

The sportier claim of Haibikes All Mtn is also noticeable on the trail. The seating position is offset forwards, so there is a lot of pressure on the front uphill. This means that even beginners can maintain control on steep ramps without the bike having to rely on a low front end or long chainstays. The comfort-orientated suspension of the All Mtn is strong: it provides a lot of traction and also defuses hard impacts with ease.

The Haibike is good for long tours and shines with an enormously high level of suspension comfort. Thanks to the steep seat angle, you only have to actively move forwards on extremely steep climbs to keep the front on the ground. In the Shootout Haibike - Rocky Mountain Instinct - Cannondale Moterra the Haibike is clearly the best of the three bikes in terms of suspension comfort, although the Rocky Mountain also scores with its exceptionally sensitive suspension. The Haibike All Mtn CF's suspension comfort and uncomplicated uphill handling contribute significantly to the points in the Easy Riding classification. The Haibike doesn't pedal up the most difficult climbs all by itself, but the compromise between riding strength on the one hand and suspension comfort on the other is a successful one. A combination that also earns the All Mnt many points on downhills. The bike often makes full use of the full 160 millimetres of travel and converts the generous travel into a lot of comfort.

The comfortable All Mtn also cuts a fine figure with a sporty riding style and strikes a good compromise between smoothness and light-footedness. In view of the high level of comfort, however, it rides in a surprisingly defined manner and can also be ridden in a sporty manner if required. With its moderate chainstay length, small rear wheel and slack steering angle, the Haibike combines a smooth ride with agility. Compared to the Moterra Neo from Cannondale, the Haibike is noticeably more playful. It also has the best fork and the best brakes in the test. The electronic Sram Eagle X01 drivetrain exudes additional high-end flair, but the frame with aluminium rear triangle and the shock without a reservoir could be of a higher quality on a top model for almost € 9000.

Conclusion on the Haibike All Mtn CF SE by Adrian Kaether, Editor EMTB

The Haibike shines with balance and manages an almost impossible balancing act: touring riders will be happy with Haibike's Bosch All-Mountain because of its high level of riding comfort. Nevertheless, the bike can still be ridden in a sporty manner without being undefined or rushing through the suspension travel. Super-sporty riders will find faster enduro bikes and more manoeuvrable trail bikes. The permissible total weight should also be higher. Nevertheless, we think it's a great success!
