With the aluminium models Radon Skeen Trail AL and Slide Trail AL, you can enter the trail bike and all-mountain class for as little as 2199 euros - despite all the crises. The more affordable versions, each with similar geometry and the same suspension travel values, aim to emulate their more expensive carbon fibre siblings, especially in terms of riding characteristics.
Especially the Radon Slide Trail 9.0 with a carbon main frame set the bar particularly high and impressed in the last test with an almost perfect compromise between smoothness and agility. The all-mountain fully with 150 millimetres of travel at the front and 140 millimetres at the rear cuts a fine figure in any terrain with its outstanding suspension.
The trail bike Radon Skeen Trail 10.0 has two centimetres less suspension than the All Mountain and impresses with its smooth geometry and short chainstays, especially on flowing trails with a pronounced play instinct.
The models equipped entirely with aluminium frames Slide Trail AL and Skeen Trail AL come with a similar geometry, 29-inch wheels and also with 130 and 150 millimetres of travel at the front and 120 and 140 millimetres of travel at the rear.
Thick forks (Rockshox Pike and Fox 36) and geometry adjustment via flip-chip on the Slide Trail AL are just as much on board as robust 29-inch wheels.Tyres and wide Handlebars. The prices start at 2199 Euro for the 7.0 versions and are available at 2699 Euro for the 8.0 bikes.
Typical Radon: You still get a lot of equipment for your money - albeit with restrictions. The Radon Slide Trail AL 8.0 will probably have to do without the Performance Elite fork and Grip2 cartridge from Fox from the carbon version. Here, simpler Performance forks together with the DPS Performance Elite shock should do the trick.
In the 7.0 aluminium models, the Rockshox Deluxe Select+ shock works with the Pike Select and in the Radon Skeen Trail AL 8.0 with the Pike Ultimate to counteract the bumps in the road. Together with the 12-speed drivetrains from Shimano (Deore, SLX) and Sram (NX, GX), the Magura brakes, Sun Ringlé wheels and Schwalbe or Maxxis tyres, you get parts that other manufacturers would use to specify bikes that cost many times more than these Radon bikes. However, the pedals shown in the pictures below are not included in the price. But that was already the case before all the crises.
