Mountain biking and gloves go together like burgers and fries. We tested seven lightweight models for trail and touring use. Which MTB gloves offer protection, comfort and optimum grip? We'll tell you in our test.

Topics in this article

They protect your fingers from whipping bushes, ensure that your hands never lose grip on the brake or gear levers and improve the feel of the handlebars. Long-fingered gloves are part of the basic equipment for mountain bikers. The range on offer is almost immeasurably large and, of course, a glove is always a question of personal taste to a certain extent. Some like thick padding on the palm, for others the palm should at best be no thicker than cling film. Some bikers prefer protectors on the knuckles, others love airy mesh on the back of the hand.

As you can see, choosing the right MTB glove is not easy. Nevertheless, we have selected 7 tried-and-tested models for you and tested them thoroughly.
