GripGrab equips the Vertical 2 glove with the innovative InsideGrip technology, which is designed to ensure maximum grip on the handlebars. The single-layer inside should also provide a very direct grip. This could make the Vertical 2 the perfect choice for demanding trail and enduro tours. Our test clarifies whether the 50 euro glove delivers what it promises.

The Vertical 2 According to GripGrab, the Vertical 2 was specially developed for mountain bikers who like to push their limits and want that little bit of extra grip. From the outside, the Vertical 2 looks like a normal - albeit extensively equipped - long-fingered glove. Soft microsuede palm for a direct grip, touchscreen function on the thumb and index finger, silicone prints on the brake and shift fingers, stretch cuffs and airy upper.

Better grip thanks to Insidegrip

The real special feature only becomes apparent when you slip into the glove or turn it inside out. The insides of the palms have additional silicone prints and are designed to provide more grip on the handlebars.

The fit of the Vertical 2 is a success - typical GripGrab. Slim, well-fitting fingers and stretchy material ensure a high level of comfort, while the airy backhand makes for a slightly sweaty feel. The touch function works perfectly, and the silicone on the fingers provides good grip when braking and shifting gears.

Is there also too much grip?

As soon as you grip the handlebars, you can feel the silicone prints on the inside. They really give you a secure grip on the handlebars at all times, and the grip is really great. However, on particularly long descents or on shuttle days when you are scrubbing a lot of metres downhill, the extra grip can sometimes be a little too much and you get the feeling that the silicone is rubbing slightly on your palms. On normal day tours, however, this is not a problem and the Vertical 2 is an extremely comfortable and well-fitting companion on technical trails.
