The DND gloves (Down and Dirty) by Giro are robust companions for anyone who is travelling off-road and values durability and comfort. With its breathable 4-way stretch mesh upper material, it is designed to adapt flexibly to the movements of the hand and at the same time ensure good ventilation. The reinforced fingertips increase the durability of the glove in particularly stressed areas and thus extend its service life. Additional protection is provided by the 2 mm thick EVA crash pads, which have a cushioning effect in the event of falls or collisions with obstacles.
A special feature of the DND glove is the AX Suede palm with Super Fit technology. This special construction eliminates excess material and is designed to prevent creasing. Integrated flex zones on the finger joints are another technical highlight. These special areas enable the glove to imitate the natural joints of the hand. This prevents creasing and constriction of the hand, which should significantly increase comfort, especially on longer rides.
Another practical feature of the DND glove is the integrated touchscreen technology. Want to check the route on your sat nav or send a quick message home? With the Giro, you can do this without taking off your gloves.
Thanks to its stretchy opening, you can easily slip into the glove even without Velcro. The length of the fingers fits well, but the DND is slightly wider overall and cut quite short and loose, especially at the wrist. The cuff doesn't close as neatly there as on the models with a Velcro fastener. However, the touch function and swipe thumb work very well and without restrictions.
Even though the fingers can be bent easily thanks to the interruption at the knuckle, the rather robust upper material could do with a little more stretch. The glove moves slightly with every movement on the handlebars. The single-layer palm offers a direct grip in technical sections, while the silicone strips provide good grip on shift and brake levers. However, sensitive riders may be bothered by the seams on the palm.
The rather robust material provides little ventilation. The Giro quickly gets sweaty on hot days. On the other hand, you can easily ride the DND well into autumn.
