The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame (MBHOF) was founded in 1988 with the aim of recording the most important people and events in the still relatively young history of mountain biking. Diddie Schneider is one of Europe's leading trail designers in the MTB scene and bike park owner. For his life's work, he was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame on 21 October in the Marin Museum of Bicycling in Fairfax, California recorded.
Schneider has been more than just an established name among trail builders for decades. In 1998, for example, he was the first in the world to realise a fully comprehensive bike park concept on the Geißkopf in Bischofsmais. His designs inspire trail builders worldwide, and his bike parks and trails are regarded by insiders as the standard for the highest quality.
Born in Stuttgart, he began his passion back in the 1980s, which he later turned into a profession. He built his first BMX track and later got into mountain biking. Just a few years after this construction, he became known as the designer of the famous Eurobike trails in Ludwigshafen. He set new standards with his new concepts and designs for trails and stadium-style courses, while at the same time working on the construction of MTB descents.
His brand "Diddie Schneider - Consulting | Supervising" is world-famous, as are his trails and bike parks. He is said to have built hundreds of them around the world. His works include the so-called MTB ZONE, of which the Bikepark Geißkopf in the Bavarian Forest, the Petzen Bike Park in Carinthia and the Willingen Bike Park in Sauerland. All of these are under the management of Schneider.
His inventions also include the beginner-friendly "Flow Country Trail Concept" developed with Hans "No Way" Rey. He is still known today as the "Master of Flow". To categorise his work, it can be said that his art consists of combining trails with nature in a sustainable and unique way. As a result of his work in the sport of MTB, he is now one of the few Germans to have been inducted into the MBHOF. There he takes his place alongside Gary Fisher, Hans Rey and Shaun Palmer.
Diddie Schneider has done a lot for the sport of MTB with his work. Without him, the sport and MTB races would not be what they are today, which is why Schneider was rightly accepted into the MBHOF. His projects cover the whole range of different courses and trails - from beginners' courses to World Cup routes. Here is an overview of a few of the projects and concepts that Schneider has realised, as well as awards for special courses:
