It has only been three years since the Bike forge Revel based in Colorado. The Rail has been in the programme right from the start, but previously only with small 27.5-inch wheels. That is now changing. With the large 29er wheels, adapted geometry and 155 millimetres of suspension travel, the Rail 29 should be equipped for tough enduro stages. But the carbon enduro bike should also feel at home in the bike park and on alpine tours. Compared to the 27.5-inch version, the Rail 29 has one centimetre less suspension travel on the CBF rear triangle, which is also used on the other Revel bikes (e.g. the Down-Country-Bike Ranger) is used. Revel has also tweaked the rear triangle, added an additional cross brace and thus saved a few bearings. As a result, the Rail 29 frame should also be lighter than the 27.5 mm version; according to the manufacturer, it weighs around 3250 grams in size M.
We have already been able to extensively test the little brother of the Revel enduro bike. The Rascal with 130 millimetres of travel shone with its top suspension. Read the test report here.
A moderate geometry with a 469 millimetre reach in frame size L and a 65 degree steering angle should ensure balance. The 155 millimetres of travel at the rear and 160 millimetres at the front are equipped for the roughest terrain. Revel offers the Rail 29 in four equipment variants and it costs between 5999 Dollar and 10999 Dollar in the top version. The complete bike prices in euros are not yet available. Like the other Revel models, the frameset including shock, headset, seat clamp and rear axle should be available in euros. 3199 Euro cost. In Germany, Revel bikes are available from 2Wheel Bike&Sport in Munich available.
