Steffi Marth: 5 questions for the MTB all-rounder

Many people think of racing when they hear the word professional biker. That's no longer your top priority, is it?

I did a few races again last year. It even went really well in Willingen. However, the last race that I seriously raced for placement was the 2018 Fourcross-DM.

What would you describe yourself as? Bike influencer? Freerider?

Nobody likes to hear the word, but all mountain bike pros are influencers somewhere. Especially the racers. Maybe that's how it works for me: I share my experiences with people. And hope that I can pass on some inspiration for biking to others.

What does a typical working day look like for you?

Very different. I spend a lot of time travelling during the season. But there's also more and more work in the office for planning and organisation and, of course, training. As a bike pro, I still have to be fit today.

How much time do you invest in social media?

Not that much. There's no content plan or anything like that. I do it spontaneously, and only in exceptional cases do I produce something specifically for social media.

How do you like this article?

You are now also travelling more with a motor. What has changed?

I came into contact with the new Fuel EXe early on via Trek. You can hardly hear or see the TQ motor, the bike is light and you can even carry it if you need to. An e-MTB with such a natural riding feel - I was immediately on board.
