A year ago, we reported enthusiastically about the 2025 Stereo Hybrid 177. Hard to believe: it was actually the first E-MTB from Cube with the fun Mullet tyres - 29 inches at the front, 27.5 inches at the rear. On top of this, for the first time there was a full 170 millimetres of suspension travel at the front and rear. A removable 800 Wh battery, the Bosch Performance CX package and numerous model variants still qualified the bike as a broad-based all-round E-Enduro - just with an unusual progressive touch.
The new AMS 177 takes this fresh development approach to the extreme for the 2026 model year. The key data: also mullet tyres, 170 millimetres of suspension travel, enduro geo. Sounds familiar - but if you take a closer look, you will quickly realise that behind the revised design of the full carbon frame and the significantly slimmer down tube is a completely new platform. Perhaps even the most fun Cube has ever had in its programme.

The two top models are equipped with Bosch's CX-R race motor with a whopping 100 Nm. The 5999 euro entry-level model relies on the Performance Line CX (here in the test)which, thanks to an update, also delivers 100 Nm and up to 750 watts - including the new EMTB+ mode. Power is supplied by a permanently installed Powertube 600, the smaller of the two Bosch batteries. There is no freedom of choice - i.e. 600 or 800 watt hours - or the option to conveniently remove the battery.
And for good reasons: The smaller battery enables a significantly lower overall weight (21.7 kilos for the top model) and also lowers the centre of gravity. The result: better riding dynamics and more natural downhill handling. For the first time on a full-power eMTB, Cube is not focussing on range and comfort on long tours, but on uncompromising riding fun. At most, the older One55 also tended in this direction. Great, we think!
As an option, the range of the bike can be increased with the Bosch range extender. As the name suggests, the Power More 250 delivers 250 watt hours and can be clicked into a special holder on the down tube. It is barely bigger than a water bottle. The additional battery must be connected to the charging port via a cable. Cost: online from 400 euros.
The chassis of the Cube AMS Hybrid 177 is clearly designed for downhill riding. The steering angle is 64 degrees - slack, but by no means extreme by enduro standards. If you like it smoother, you can even go to 63.6 degrees with an angled headset. In the steeper position, the reach is moderate at 475 millimetres (size L). The chainstays measure 443 millimetres in all frame sizes and look extremely compact, especially in combination with the longer front centres of L and XL. The seat tube remains pleasantly short - 420 millimetres in size L - and thus creates space for long 170 mm dropper posts. This gives the AMS Hybrid 177 plenty of freedom of movement and maximum control on steep descents. Attention all those who are flirting with the exclusively equipped top model with Fox Podium fork: Cube does not offer frame size S in this equipment line.
The new Cube AMS Hybrid 177 comes in three equipment variants. Starting price: 5999 euros for the AMS Hybrid 177 C:62 TM 600X - the full carbon frame and the top total weight of 21.9 kilos are real USPs in this price class. This is followed by the AMS Hybrid 177 C:62 AT 600X for 7499 euros, and the top model Cube AMS Hybrid 177 C:62 SUPER TM 600X for 9999 euros. Highlight of the Super TM: Despite the Fox Podium suspension fork and massive Continental downhill tyres, the bike weighs a sensational 21.7 kilos according to the manufacturer - an absolute top value without compromising on off-road capability.
With X-Connect, Cube presented its smart solution for attaching front lights for the first time last year. The light is attached in seconds and the connection to the main battery is just as quick via a "socket" above the head tube. The system is so discreet that you hardly notice it without a light - perfect for the sporty e-runabout AMS 177. Cubes house brand Acid offers a whole range of lights, from affordable everyday lights to high-end headlights. And thanks to X-Connect, everything is compatible with the AMS Hybrid 177.
The Cube AMS Hybrid 177 is an uncompromising E-Enduro that clearly focusses on downhill performance and maximum trail fun. With 170 millimetres of suspension travel, a mullet set-up, full carbon frame and Bosch power, it promises strong uphill support and natural handling downhill. The slim 600 Wh battery lowers the centre of gravity and contributes to the handling. Three model variants from 5999 to 9999 euros ensure that both beginners and ambitious riders get their money's worth.
