It's hard to believe, but Cube has never actually had an e-mountainbike with the popular mullet wheel combination of 29 at the front and 27.5 inches at the rear in its range. With the Stereo Hybrid One77, the time has now come. And to top it all off, the suspension travel has also reached new heights. 170 millimetres at the front and rear - another unprecedented feature on a Cube e-MTB.
To emphasise the sporty touch, the One77 inherits the frame design of the Stereo Hybrid One55 with shock located under the top tube. According to Cube, the departure from the classic design with a vertical shock in front of the seat tube is purely a visual decision. The kinematics, on the other hand, are very similar to its predecessor, the E-Enduro Stereo Hybrid 160.
On the equipment side, too, the signs point fully to downhill. The front is fitted with 38 mm suspension forks from Fox, Rockshox or SR Suntour, depending on the model. There are also potent rear shocks. The tyres come with puncture-proof casings: Schwalbes Supergravity at the rear, Supertrail at the front.
As usual, the latest Cube e-mountainbikes also rely on a Bosch Performance Line CX. However, it is now clear that the latest version, the completely revised Bosch Performance Line CX for model year 2025, is at work here. Improved modulation, slightly lower weight and, above all, a significant reduction in noise levels characterise the new Swabian motor.
The batteries for the new Bosch motor are also brand new. As the name suggests, the Powertube 800 delivers more energy than the familiar Powertube 750, but it has nevertheless become significantly lighter. A smaller and lighter version is the Powertube 600, which saves another 900 grams.
Already familiar from last year's models: The battery sits under a generously rubberised cover in the down tube. Once you have removed the cover, you can access the battery with a spanner and remove it quite easily for changing, charging or storage.
As an option, the range of the bike can be increased with the range extender from Bosch. As the name suggests, the Power More 250 delivers 250 watt hours and is clicked into a special holder on the down tube. It is barely bigger than a water bottle. The additional battery must be connected to the charging port via a cable. Cube has adopted the solution from the AMS Hybrid One44 SX bike for this. Once the cable is connected, the cover of the charging port is clipped off so that it is not in the way when pedalling.
The chassis of the Cube Stereo Hybrid One77 has a moderate design. The head angle is slack at 64 degrees, but by no means extreme by enduro standards. This also applies to the reach, which is between 425 mm in size S and 504 mm in size XL. In L it is 475 millimetres. The most drastic difference to its little brother: the chainstays on the E-Enduro are short at 442.5 millimetres across all frame sizes. The wheelbase also remains moderate at 1265 mm in size L.
A drastic change compared to previous years: the seat tube is significantly shorter to make room for longer dropper posts. In size L it is 420 millimetres, which Cube combines with 170 mm dropper posts. Previously, 150 mm seat posts were usually too short. Another advantage of the short seat tubes is that riders can choose the frame size more freely and opt for a longer frame for a smoother ride.
With X-Connect, Cube has come up with a smart attachment for various front lights for 2025. Not only is the attachment done in seconds, but the connection to the main battery is also done in no time at all thanks to a "socket" above the head tube. As you can see almost nothing of the system without the light installed, X-Connect is also used on the sporty E-Enduro One77. Apart from the cheapest models, all variants have the feature on board ex works.
Cube's own brand Acid offers a wide selection of lights that can be fitted to the new e-mountainbikes with X-Connect. From affordable everyday lights to high-end headlights.
The new Cube Stereo Hybrid One77 will be available in a total of five equipment variants. It starts at a fair 4299 euros for the "Race" equipment variant. In this price range, you will only find a few e-enduro bikes with a carbon main frame. The range continues with SLX, TM and Action Team up to the top model SLT for 8699 euros.
