The recently launched era of the new Scott Spark models is already characterised by successes. In addition to the Scott Sram Team's World Cup placings and Nino Schurter's world championship title, the Swiss have already achieved top marks in our tests on several occasions. The Scott Spark RC is no exception. In terms of development, the Marathon Fully is in a league of its own. The shock integrated into the seat tube and the cables concealed in the stem set standards in terms of system integration.
But the 128 millimetres of rear suspension travel also provide a lot of security off-road and allow high speeds even in rough passages. The aggressive geometry of the Scott Spark RC also contributes to the superior handling. The high front end and the low bottom bracket enhance riding stability. The 2.4 tyres generate a lot of traction and additional comfort. On the climbs, the steep seat angle and high front create a comfortable yet propulsion-orientated riding position despite the very long reach.
The Scott Spark RC is available in seven versions and four sizes. The Comp starts at 3699 euros. For 5199 euros there is already a Sram Axs groupset in the Team Issue variant. The top model SL Evo Axs costs 13,499 euros and offers a lightweight HMX carbon frame, a Powermeter crank and the Sram TyreWiz system.
The Scott Spark RC secured first place with a clear 56.1 per cent of reader votes. Second place went to the Cube AMS Zero99 with 18 per cent of the vote. Third place went to the Simplon Cirex SL with 10.5 per cent of the vote.
