The Deflector FM40 from Zefal protects the rider and bike from splash water and mud. Made from polypropylene, the mudguard is suitable for tyres up to 3.0 inches wide and weighs 156 grams. The universal mounting and the favourable price make the mud flap particularly interesting.

The new Deflector FM40 front mudguard combines universal compatibility with maximum protection against mud splashes on the trail. The technical plastic construction weighs just 156 grams and protects both rider and bike from water and mud splashes. The discreet design integrates seamlessly into the look of modern mountain bikes - optionally with perfectly fitting adapters for Fox and Rockshox forks.

The polypropylene construction is robust enough for all riding styles and weather conditions. With dimensions of 560 x 90 x 170 millimetres, the mudguard covers a large area. The deep side walls protect the fork tubes and seals from penetrating dirt.

Universal thanks to Velcro system

Tool-free installation is carried out using three rubberised Velcro straps of different lengths. Two 210 millimetre straps and one 150 millimetre strap securely fasten the mudguard to the fork. This solution works universally on all fork types and enables positioning close to the wheel.

The system is suitable for wheels from 27.5 to 29 inches in diameter. The maximum tyre width is 3.0 inches or 76 millimetres. Three attachment points ensure the necessary stability even with an aggressive riding style.

Adapter options for fixed mounting

The manufacturer offers two special adapters for forks with threads in the triple clamp. The FZ01 model fits Fox forks from the 32, 34, 36, 38 and 40 series from 2021 onwards and is compatible with AWL, Öhlins, SR Suntour and Marzocchi forks with Fox suspension.

The RZ01 adapter covers the RockShox range and works with Zeb and Domain forks from 2021. Lyrik and Pike models from 2023 are also supported. Recon 35 Gold RL, Silver R and TK complete the compatibility list for fixed mounting.
