With the new Win Wing MTB, Ass Savers is launching a splash guard for tyres up to 3.0 inches wide. The new model fits 26- to 29-inch wheels. The Win Wing MTB is based on the proven principle of tangential coverage and has been specially optimised for off-road requirements.

Ass Savers, the Swedish specialist for minimalist mudguards, presents the Win Wing MTB, a new solution for mountain bikes with particularly wide tyres. The model builds on the success of the versions already available for road and gravel bikes, but has been specially adapted in terms of width and stability to meet off-road requirements. According to the manufacturer, the Win Wing MTB is designed for mountain bikes with their voluminous knobby tyres up to 3.0 inches wide and wheel sizes from 26 to 29 inches.

Protection for wide tyres with "Tangential Coverage"

The basic principle of the Win Wing MTB is based on the "Tangential Coverage" concept developed by Ass Savers. The splash guard is positioned exactly at the point where dirt and water are released from the rotating tyre.

In order to guarantee this even with wide MTB tyres, the design of the Win Wing MTB had to be revised compared to the narrower versions. The Wishbone frame, which is responsible for the attachment to the bike, has been widened and reinforced. At the same time, a new adjustment option allows it to be adapted to different frame shapes, from hardtails and bikes to monstercross bikes.

Optimised design for more stability

The actual mudguard of the Win Wing MTB has also been optimised for off-road use. It is longer and wider than on the road and gravel versions. A lateral edge is also intended to provide additional stability. These design adjustments are aimed at providing reliable splash protection even on rough trails and at high speeds. Despite the reinforcements, the weight remains low at 114 grams.

For the market launch, Ass Savers is offering the Win Wing MTB in three different designs. In addition to a completely black "Stealth" version, there is also the "Detour" design in shades of grey, already familiar from other models, which is reminiscent of a rock surface.

The new "Roks" colour scheme with 90s patterns in pink and purple was developed exclusively for the MTB version. This allows mountain bikers to customise the splash guard to match the look of their bike. Protective stickers are also included to prevent paint damage to the frame.
