The Scots know a thing or two about bad weather. That's why Endura is expanding the MT500 series with six new products for mountain bikers who don't want to miss out on trail rides even in adverse weather conditions. The collection includes the MT500 Adv jacket, the lined thermal bib, merino wool baselayer products and practical helpers for changing clothes after the tour.

The Scottish clothing specialist Endura is presenting six new products from its MT500 line, which have been specially developed for mountain bike tours in autumn and winter conditions. The new products include the MT500 Adv jacket, the lined thermal bib, merino wool baselayer products and two practical aids for changing clothes after the tour.

Experience from the Scottish weather

When developing the new products, Endura naturally drew on the experience that the company has gained in its Scottish homeland. In the Highlands, downpours and stormy weather conditions are part of everyday life, which makes the development of functional clothing for these conditions particularly obvious. The product line is intended to offer a complete set that accompanies mountain bikers from the start to the finish and should make them want to hit the trails even in the most adverse conditions.

The MT500 Adv jacket as the centrepiece

The MT500 Adventure jacket forms the centrepiece of the new collection and is available for both men and women. Endura uses a three-layer Pertex Shield material for this model, which is characterised by its low weight, waterproofness and small pack size. The jacket has a helmet-compatible hood that can be individually adjusted thanks to a SlideLock adjustment system. When not in use, the hood can be stowed away in the collar using flat press studs. A special feature of the jacket is the hidden laser cuts, which are designed to provide ventilation and heat dissipation. For additional temperature regulation, Endura has equipped the jacket with a water-repellent 2-way front zip and a press stud system. This combination should allow fresh air to reach the body without having to open the jacket completely.

Warming support for the legs

To complement the jacket, Endura presents the MT500 lined thermal bib. These bib shorts are made from highly elasticated Thermomesh material which, according to the manufacturer, offers both warming and breathable properties. The material also has a water-repellent treatment and dries quickly in the event of rain showers during the tour or if the rider starts to sweat. For practical comfort, Endura has equipped the trousers with a so-called PeePort, which is designed to make toilet breaks easier. The integrated Endura Mountain pad from the 550 series is designed to provide cushioning and comfort.

Natural warmth with merino wool

Endura has developed two merino wool baselayer products for particularly cold days: the Baabaa Pro baselayer top and the Baabaa Pro baselayer leggings. Both products are designed to benefit from the natural properties of merino wool, which is known for its rapid moisture transport, quick drying and good warmth-to-weight ratio. Endura emphasises that the wool used is mulesing-free and has a soft feel against the skin. Another advantage of merino wool is its odour-neutral properties, which are designed to prevent unpleasant odours from forming even during intense physical exertion. Both base layer products are manufactured using 3D knitting technology, which, according to Endura, should ensure a seamless and friction-free fit. In the case of the leggings, the manufacturer also emphasises the body zone-specific functional structures, which are said to be particularly breathable and stretchy.

Practical helpers for before and after the tour

In addition to the clothing for the actual tour, Endura is presenting two practical aids to make it easier to change clothes before and especially after the mountain bike session: the MT500 Dirt Robe and the MT500 Dirt Bag.

MT500 Dirt Robe

The Dirt Robe is a cape specially designed for cyclists to enable them to put on and take off their clothing without having to expose themselves. The upper part of the cape is lined with fleece, while the lower part is quilted. This design is intended to provide warmth on the one hand and prevent mud from sticking to the lower half on the other. The cape has side openings for the arms for easy donning and doffing.

MT500 Dirt Bag

The MT500 Dirt Bag complements the cape as a practical changing bag. It can be spread out as a waterproof mat on which you can stand while changing. After changing, the dirty clothes can simply be placed in the bag, which can then be closed with a drawstring. The bag has a shoulder strap for carrying and practical compartments for keys and other small items.
