Ghost Kato FS

The 2023 Ghost Kato FS is a versatile mountain bike that stands out for its solid spec and excellent value for money. Priced at EUR 1,699, the model offers a wide range of technical features that will appeal to both beginners and advanced riders.

The Kato FS’s frame is made from robust aluminium (ALUMINIUM KATO FS AL) and contributes to a total weight of 16 kg. Braking performance is provided by Tektro HDM275 180 mm disc brakes, fitted to both the front and rear, supported by Tektro HDM275 brake levers and Tektro TR18035 brake discs.

The bike’s drivetrain is a SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed system, which enables precise and reliable gear changes. The drivetrain is completed by an SRAM SX Eagle 32T crankset and an SRAM PG1210 1150 cassette. The bottom bracket is an SRAM Power Spline 118/73.

The Ghost Kato FS is fitted with VPE506 pedals and features a Ground Fiftyone handlebar, available in widths of 720 mm (S), 740 mm (ML) and 780 mm (XL), depending on frame size. The stem has a diameter of 31.8 mm, a length of 50 mm and a 9-degree angle. The handlebars themselves are 700 mm wide and fitted with MTB grips.

The wheelsets consist of Schürmann Yak Disc 25 rims, fitted with WTB Ranger 2.3 Comp tyres (S 27.5"; MXL 29"). The hubs are from Shimano, with the front hub being an HBMT400B (15x110 mm) and the rear hub an FHMT400B (12x148 mm). The spokes are Sapim 2.0.

The saddle is a Selle Italia XBase, mounted on a GND 51 seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm. The saddle is clamped in place using a GHOST XC 68 clamp with a diameter of 34.9 mm.

In terms of geometry, the Kato FS has a reach of 419 mm, a stack of 578 mm, a seat tube length of 385 mm and a top tube length of 550 mm. The head tube angle is 66 degrees, whilst the seat tube angle is 77 degrees. The head tube is 100 mm long, the chainstays measure 430 mm and the bottom bracket drop is 22 mm. The standover height is 698 mm and the crank length is 170 mm. The bike’s overall wheelbase is 1145 mm.
