2284 participants responded to this year's MYBIKE reader survey. 88 per cent of MYBIKE readers are Male and on average 59 years old. It was mainly men who took part in the study. However, it can be assumed that the proportion of ambitious female cyclists is higher than the proportion of participants would suggest. However, it is mainly men who are particularly enthusiastic about tests, technology and innovations in sports equipment.

Around two thirds of readers describe themselves as Everyday and leisure riders and use the bicycle to a similar extent as a means of transport in everyday life and for leisure.

The gravel bike/cross bike has established itself as a genre in its own right. Riding fun away from tarmac roads and comparatively low purchase costs are the reasons for its success in the bicycle market.

... confirm 80 per cent of MYBIKE readers. 50 per cent of participants in the MYBIKE study ride a cross/gravel bike, intend to buy one or are interested in one.
The readers of MYBIKE media are enthusiastic cyclists. However, the majority of them are not committed to one type of bike. 34 per cent of them most frequently ride an e-bike, while a further 29 per cent ride a trekking/touring bike without a motor.
Overall, two thirds are considering buying a new bike. Of these, 41 per cent are planning to buy an e-bike. Some of the purchase criteria differ significantly from those of the sporty target groups in the study. Unlike racing cyclists and mountain bikers, test rides and suitability for touring are decisive factors when buying a new bike.

As part of the MYBIKE reader survey, participants were able to choose the bike and pedelec of the year.
Italy leads the country ranking for sports enthusiasts (BIKE, EMTB, TOUR). The participants in the MYBIKE study prefer a holiday in Germany by a large margin, with Bavaria being their favourite.
A large number of different sources are used in parallel during planning. Most frequently Tour planning appsfollowed by personal recommendations and specialist magazines.
At the same time, 90 percent of those surveyed organise their cycling holiday themselves and 95 percent also travel with their own bike. The proportion of cycling holidaymakers who make stage trips with changing locations is roughly equal to the proportion of holidaymakers who make day trips from a fixed location.
