About It's been 40 years since Specialized launched the Stumpjumper one of the very first mountain bikes on the market. In the mid-90s, the "Stumpi" with the Horst link became one of the first MTB full-suspension bikes to impress. The latest version of the Specialized Stumpjumper Evo comes with a few detail improvements, such as the SWAT box in the down tube, which was previously the Carbon bikes was reserved for this bike. The head tube angle can be adjusted by up to 2.5 degrees and the bottom bracket can be lowered by up to ten millimetres so that every rider can customise the all-mountain bike perfectly. It is also possible to fit a 27.5-inch rear wheel and ride the Stumpjumper Evo as a mullet bike.
The 160 millimetres of travel at the front, together with the improved rear suspension, ensure more downhill fun. The improved anti-squat behaviour ensures that the Stumpjumper Evo masters every climb with flying colours.
The Aluminium version of the Stumpjumper Evo is available in two versions and six sizes each from S1 to S6. The Comp version with Fox Performance suspension and Sram NX groupset costs € 4400. For the top model with Fox Factory suspension and Sram GX drivetrain, you have to put €6400 on the table.
The Specialized Stumpjumper Evo Alu secured first place in the BIKE of the Year poll in the All-Mountain category with 30.1 percent of the votes. The Santa Cruz Bronson and the Bold Linkin landed in second and third place with 23.1 and 20.8 per cent of reader votes.
