The Swiss company's E-flagship is now also available in a Gravity version with more travel and a pimped setup: 170 millimetres at the front instead of the previous 160 millimetres, plus a rear triangle that is trimmed more progressively using shims. Scott has also dispensed with the traditional Twinloc, with which the platform setting is regulated simultaneously on the fork and rear triangle, on the Patron ST for 2023. Instead, there is only Traction Control on the rear triangle, with a 38 mm Fox with Grip2 cartridge and correspondingly more generous adjustment options in the front. To ensure that nothing goes wrong on hardcore downhills, Maxxis Assegai (front) and Dissector provide traction and puncture protection. A carbon (picture: 900 Tuned) and an aluminium model of the E-MTB will be available in the coming season, prices were not yet known at the time of going to press.

Inspired by its Paris-Dakar off-road machines, the traditional Italian motorbike brand is entering the e-bike business. Under the "Lucky Explorer Project" label, MV Agusta is launching an E-Enduro with a full carbon frame and 180 millimetres of suspension travel. From frame size M, the Bosch motor is powered by a 750 Wh battery, while the system controller is located in the top tube. 220 millimetre discs and Braking Incas brakes provide brute braking power. The Italians claim that their 22.5-kilo E-Enduro is intended for racing. The Lucky Explorer should be available from March 2023.

Eagerly awaited: the first e-MTBs with the new Bavarian mini motor. Pivot and Storck had the first impact.
Playing instead of bolting: The Americans have designed their new Shuttle SL as a consistently lightweight trail bike. The rear suspension travel is short at 132 millimetres, but the top model from Pivot is said to weigh less than 16.5 kilos thanks to the permanently installed 430 watt-hour battery. Full-throttle bikers will not only be delighted with up to 450 watts of motor power from the Fazua Ride 60but also super-short chainstays. The Prices start at 8999 euros. To the Pivot website
The Storck Light-E-MTB with the new Fazu-Ride60 drive is so fresh that it was only available as a 3D print at the trade fair. According to Markus Storck, the carbon frames are already being baked, but a few add-on parts from Japan are still missing. The lightweight bike should be available in mid-2023. Target weight: a light and airy 16.5 kilos, with 150 millimetres of suspension travel and a permanently integrated 430 Wh battery. Planned sales price: 7999 euros. To the Storck website
Some of the price tags at Eurobike would also have fitted in at the IAA. In contrast, affordable e-mountainbikes are becoming more and more of a rarity. We have found five new models that will soon be in the shops at fair prices.
For almost four years, the Growler hardtail was able to hold its own in Rocky Mountain's Powerplay range, but now it has been replaced by the Fusion. Compared to its predecessor, the Fusion rolls on 29-inch wheels and is said to have a sportier geometry with a significantly longer reach. Like the Powerplay fullys, the Fusion is also powered by the new Dyname 4.0 unit. The in-house power pack is powered as standard by a 480 Wh battery that can be removed from the bottom. However, the battery bay is large enough to accommodate the 720 Wh battery, which Rocky offers as a retrofit option. If you then clamp the 324 Wh Overtime Pack onto the down tube, you should have no more range worries. The Rocky Mountain Fusion Powerplay 10 is available for 4400 euros, the 30er for 4800 euros. Perhaps not a bargain, but a Rocky after all. More info/Rocky Mountain website
In June, the Austrians presented their new Mountain Cross in the MC6, MC5 and MC4 models, and now the more affordable versions are being added. The striking difference to the more expensive relatives: no 720 Wh slider battery, therefore no Shimano motor turned upwards and consequently no two-part main frame. Instead, a 630 battery is clamped in the down tube, which is removed from the front in the classic way. This gives the Husqvarna MC3 a much more conventional look. Advantage: The battery is compatible with the predecessor models. The sporty geometry with a central, low seating position should be the same as on the expensive MC models. Prices start at 5199 euros. More info/Husqvarna website
The prototype was unveiled six months ago and now the Raymon TrailRay is going into series production. Compared to its predecessor, the rear triangle now also features a 29-inch wheel. In order to keep the bike sporty and playful, we worked intensively on the geometry with trail trickster Korbinian Engstler. The chainstays are 15 millimetres shorter despite the larger rear wheel. The TrailRays will be available in two suspension travel versions: the E160 with 170/160 millimetres and the E 140 with 150/140 millimetres. All new Raymon TrailRays are equipped with Yamaha's PW-X3 and a 720 Wh battery from Simplo. The 9.0, 10.0 and 11.0 models cost the same in the short and long travel versions: € 5299, € 5799 and € 6899 respectively. The 11.0 models come with Fox Factory suspension and Sram GX Eagle, the affordable 9.0 model with Rockshox Domain and Deore components. To the Raymon Bikes website
Already at the BIKE Festival on Lake Garda In May, the cut-out in the top tube of a Carbon-Xyron caught our eye. At that time, there was only a temporary plastic cover over it, but now the Bosch Remote Control, which was newly introduced at the trade fair, was inside. Conway had already taken precautions and now equips practically all new models with various features from the Bosch Smart line-up. The cheapest aluminium model, the Conway Xyron S 2.9, comes with the new 625 Wh Powertube battery, the S 3.9 with the 750 Wh Powertube. Both aluminium models roll on 29-inch wheels. The fun starts with the E-MTB Xyron S 2.9 at 4499 euros. Getting into motorised mountain biking is even cheaper with the Cairon: with a 500 Wh Powertube battery, the e-hardtail is available from just 3199 euros. Price Conway Xyron S 3.9 5199 euros. This bike was voted the best bike of 2022 by our readers. E-MTB of the Year voted in the Tour category. For 2023, Bulls has actually managed to reduce the price of the entry-level model of the lightweight full carbon speedster. Given the generally rising price level, this is of course not possible without cost-cutting measures. For 4999 euros, the high-range carbon speedster (750 Wh) is equipped with SR Suntour suspension and 11-speed Deore gears. The new EP6 motor from Shimano also provides propulsion. The performance data is identical to the EP8, but the small Shimano drive unit is around 300 grams heavier. Despite these downgrades, the bike should still offer an unrivalled ratio of range, weight and price. More info/Bulls website
