A quick ride after work. Trail hunting at the weekend or a family holiday. Trail bikes go easily uphill and quickly downhill with a lot of taker qualities. The new Crossworx Lite 290 is designed to offer just that. With a tried and tested single-pivot rear suspension. As with the Enduro Dashthe cables run inside the frame and the rear triangle is fitted with double-sealed bearings. Thanks to the very compact design of the rear triangle, two bottle cages can be fitted - a shortcoming of the Crossworx Hardtail Zero29that could only hold one bottle. So the tour with the Lite couldn't be long enough.
The Lite 290 can be customised in the Crossworx online configuration. The available components are of high quality and sensibly selected. The aim is to shorten delivery times. Especially in times of fragile supply routes from the Far East, the Thuringians are focussing on a completely local production for their frames. The Thuringian company also attaches great importance to offering local products wherever possible when it comes to add-on parts. Whether raw aluminium or a coloured frame is a matter of taste. The colours do not cost any extra. Crossworx is also open to special requests in terms of colours and will even build custom frames on request.
The unique rear link on the Crossworx Lite 290 is slightly longer than on the Dash to make the platform more active. Towards the end of the travel, the progression increases more than on the Dash, which should give the Lite 29o a stronger trail character. With a 140 mm fork in the front, the steering angle drops with 66 degrees moderate. If you fit a 150 millimetre fork, the steering angle flattens out 65.5 degrees down. The very steep 78 degrees seat angle should help the rider on extreme climbs.
To optimise the Freedom of movement The seat tube moulding set, which reinforces the transition from the top tube to the seat tube, is not used up to size M. This allows seatposts with even more travel to be fitted. Crossworx has given the Lite 290 in sizes L and XL a slimmer moulding set. The chainstay protector is also new and, in keeping with the times, comes from a 3D printer. Thanks to butted tubes and optimised square braces in the rear triangle, the frame should be 200 grams lighter than the Dash frame. Cost point for the frameset: 2,499 Euro. The complete wheel starts at 5,640 Euro. For this price, however, the Crossworx Lite 290 is already equipped to a high standard. According to the manufacturer, the frameset in size M weighs 3.9 kilogrammes. More information at crossworx-cycles.com.
