Bader Alm: large tour in the northern Black Forest

Immerse yourself in a completely different world: this two-day stage tour takes you through the typical forest-meadow-mountain panorama landscape of the northern Black Forest, but surprises you with the very unusual Bader Alm. Hidden in the hills near Oppenau, you pass through a gate and find yourself in a long-forgotten world of hot tubs, herbal baths and evening barbecues. The tour there includes plenty of viewpoints and the trails of Sasbachwalden.

Starkenfeldhütte: to the downhill host in the Dolomites

The modern hut with sauna, yoga room and the finest cuisine sits enthroned on a high plateau and watches over the dream areas of the Eisack and Pustertal valleys. From here, you can comfortably watch the pale Dolomite walls blush in the evening light. The tour up there is something for climbing fans: 1400 metres in altitude pile up to the 2194 metre high Astjoch. The Starkenfeldhütte is just a trail quickie below. The next day, it's over the high plateau, then down the long descent to Brixen. The host of the hut: downhill legend "Denim Destroyer"!

Marchhütte, Pustertal: sleeping in an old gun emplacement

Still a wartime bunker building on the outside, it has been converted into cosy accommodation on the inside since 2021: the Marchhütte. It clings to the bare rock of the Marchkinkele summit ridge at an altitude of 2541 metres, directly on the route of the famous Stoneman Dolomiti circuit. The climb up from Sesto is tough and 20 kilometres long, but the magnificent view over the Sesto Dolomites alone pumps so much energy back into your body that you tackle the climb to the Sillianer Hütte the next day and complete the Stoneman.

Guffert Hut: a classic on Lake Achensee

The Blauberge mountains to the east of Lake Achensee are not spectacular, but you can still find genuine Tyrolean mountain peace here. The long tour circles around the Guffertspitze on idyllic alpine paths and stops off at the lovingly run hut of the same name along the way.

Falkenhütte, Karwendel: a touch of the Himalayas

3 ... 2 ... 1 - since its reopening in 2020, the Falkenhütte in the Karwendel has been overrun by day tourists. Of course, with the Adlerhorst location and this Kaiserschmarrn. That's why it's best to start the big Karwendel tour in the afternoon and only turn up there when the view of the Lalider walls is clear again. Open from mid-June 23.
