The Canadians from Bombardier Recreational Products - in short BRP - are specialists when it comes to high-performance off-road and water vehicles. The portfolio consists of jet skis, snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Together with transmission specialist Pinion, BRP now wants to take a step towards e-mobility and has announced that it will push ahead with the development of electric-assisted vehicles such as e-bikes. However, the first model to be developed will be a E-motorbike come onto the market. In the bike sector, the Canadians primarily want to become active in urban mobility. It is not yet clear whether a BRB e-mountainbike with Pinion drive will follow. With an annual turnover of 7.6 billion Canadian dollars in more than 120 countries, BRP employs almost 20,000 people worldwide.
The Pinion founders, managing directors and shareholders Michael Schmitz, Christoph Lermen and Thomas Raith will remain on board and maintain the company's strategic course. The previous shareholder families, who have been involved from the start-up to the present day, have now sold their shareholdings.

Together, we will continue to provide premium Pinion transmission technology to our 100+ valued bicycle manufacturers while expanding our offering and further developing drive solutions." - Christopher Lermen, Co-Managing Director of Pinion
