Mike Kluge's greatest successes: 11-time German Cyclocross Champion, 2-time German MTB Champion, 3-time World Cyclocross Champion, 1990 Overall World Cup Mountain Bike Champion.
Mike Kluge can look back on a 45-year career in racing and has collected more titles in various disciplines than any other German cyclist. He has compiled his all-time favourite songs for us. Music was a fundamental part of Mike's time, especially to motivate himself. "With the right music, I could train harder," Mike remembers. In the 1980s and 90s, he was always on the lookout for the latest Walkmans and headphones. These are his all-time favourites.

I like soulful music. It's always been my thing. Music that gets under your skin has helped me to motivate myself and push myself beyond my limits. Rock has always been too aggressive for me. - Mike Kluge, bike pro

Mike Kluge is on the road a lot, whether in the car or on his bike. It's more fun with music. Mike Kluge has put together a playlist of 15 songs for our Soundcheck section. These are his first 10 songs. You can find the rest on Spotify: bike MAG.

1 Bang Bang - Nancy Sinatra
"I like melancholic songs, this one is the best."
2 Geiles Leben - Glasperlenspiel
"Cool lyrics, fresh beat - a good mood song."
3 Diamonds - Rihanna
"Rihanna - a visual and musical delight."
4 Going to a Town - George Michael
"Songs like this remind me of the good old days."

"Aggressive rock songs don't get me, those do."
10 Renegades - X Ambassadors
"Probably the newest song on the playlist. I like it."

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
