Scott Addict Gravel 10

The Scott Addict Gravel was not a pioneer in the race-ready gravel bike segment; other manufacturers such as 3T, Cervélo and Ridley had got there a little earlier with their race bikes. Nevertheless, Scott can take credit for having successfully transferred the speed sensation of a road bike to off-road terrain with its current model range. The conclusion from our test: The Scott Addict Gravel 10 is easy to maintain, offers a wide range of gears and impresses with its stiffness. Offer: >> Currently available at Sport Bittl for 4,498 euros instead of 6,599 euros.

Trek Madone SL 7

The top-of-the-range version of the Trek Madone has already proved its worth at the Giro d’Italia. But how does the Trek Madone SL 7 (reviewed here) In the mid-range? At under 7,000 euros, this road bike catches the eye with its striking design. It also offers good comfort in the rear. Strikingly stylish, but is it also strikingly good? The speed deficit compared to the SLR 9 – which costs more than twice as much – is mainly down to the slower handlebar-stem combination. The potential for tuning is limited, as the SL 7 requires significantly more pedalling effort than the most aerodynamic models under 7,000 euros, even when fitted with faster wheels. In contrast to an earlier test bike with a taller frame, however, the current model shows no weaknesses in terms of stiffness. Offer: at Fahrrad XXL, the Trek Madone SL 7 is currently available for 5,499 euros instead of 6,499 euros.

Focus Atlas 6.7

Despite having been on the market for a few years, the aluminium model still looks modern and sleek: gear cables and brake hoses run directly under the stem into the head tube, chunky 45-millimetre tyres define the silhouette, and the characteristically shaped frame looks distinctive and rich in detail, yet not fussy.

The Atlas is well equipped for cycle tours and other adventures. Standard features include: a small top-tube bag, eyelets beneath the bottom bracket for a tool box, and threaded mounts for mudguards and a luggage rack. Small racks can be attached to the carbon fork via three eyelets on each side. There is also a mounting point for a front light, as well as openings for routing the light cable through the frame and fork. The verdict from the TOUR test: a very stable frame with a finely graduated gear system. >> Offer: Currently available at Fahrrad XXL for 1,799 euros instead of 1,999 euros.

At Van Rysel, you get a refreshingly no-frills up-and-comer for your money; he may be less charismatic than other candidates, but there are prominent examples in our test, which show that spectacular design alone and five-figure prices say nothing about quality. >> Offer: Currently available at Decathlon for 3,549 euros instead of 4,499 euros.

Rose Reveal 04 105 Di2

The Reveal is great for off-road jaunts on gravel (reviewed here) It handles everything with ease, but it’s on the road where it feels most at home. This is where this bargain-priced bike shows its laid-back side. The bike feels familiar very quickly and, thanks to its distinctly upright riding position, is ideal for long days in the saddle. However, its sticky tyres may not be to everyone’s taste. The in-house aluminium wheels help this affordable speedster keep its weight in the slipstream of the lightest bikes in its category. >> Offer: The Rose Reveal 04 105 Di2 costs currently 2,899 euros instead of 3,299 euros.

Gonso Ride Miles Bib Circle

The word ‘Circle’ in the name of the Gonso Ride Miles Bib (reviewed here) is not intended to suggest that the new bib shorts allow you to cycle in circles for particularly long periods, but rather that they have been developed with the circular economy in mind. Only single-material components are used here, which, once the bib shorts have reached the end of their life, can be easily recycled and returned to the material cycle.

The Gonso fits like a second skin. You can’t feel the seams anywhere, and the fabric itself feels great. Even when cycling, the leg cuffs stay neatly in place. The straps are comfortable and reliably prevent the padding from slipping under your bottom. >> Offer: Currently available at Rose for 129 euros instead of 189 euros.

Giro Eclipse Spherical

Conclusion from our TOUR Test: Good all-round fit; size M runs small; from a head circumference of 58 centimetres, the headband presses against the forehead; the Mips Spherical system with its two helmet shells is available exclusively from Giro; it offers good protection against concussions, whilst impact absorption is above average; the width and height adjustment works well – a plait fits comfortably through – though the width adjustment dial is rather small. >> Offer: currently available for 189 euros instead of 260 euros.

Thanks to its huge panoramic lens, the Smith (reviewed here) excellent visibility and adequate protection against wind and flying debris. Its brown lens enhances contrast, but is quite dark and takes a while to adjust to the light. You can switch to the clear lens using a magnetic clip. Top marks: good anti-fog protection. Even on wider faces, the Smith sits almost too loosely and very high up due to its low tension. >> Offer: Currently available at Bergzeit from 165 euros instead of 274 euros.
