The Italian direct mail order company and E-MTB specialist Thok, which incidentally for the E-MTBs from Ducati already has a whole range of e-mountainbikes in its programme. The Mig HT hardtail, the Allround-Fully Mig and the Enduro E-Bike TK01. The latest offspring of the Italians has a clear goal. The Thok Gram is set to become the absolute flagship of the e-bike specialist from Bella Italia. Carbon fibre is being used as the frame material for the first time.
In the dialect of Piedmont, the place of origin of the e-bike brand, the word Gram means something like angry. This is a reference to the design of the new e-mountainbike. Because with a certain amount of anger, angry descents should lose their terror. And the Thok e-bike should also impress on the climbs - as long as the terrain is challenging. The Italians have equipped their new top model with 170 millimetres of suspension travel and MX tyres.
Compared to the Aluminium Enduro TK01 the Italians have not only changed the frame material. The geometry is much more modern. A slacker head angle, much steeper seat angle, longer reach and therefore a significantly longer wheelbase. This clearly sets the Gram apart from its aluminium counterpart. At 450 millimetres, the chainstays remain on the moderately long side, while the bottom bracket is high on paper.
The two equipment variants of the Gram are available from Thok via direct sales and from selected bike dealers. There are currently 13 Thok partners in Germany where you can buy the Italian company's bikes locally.
The more favourable model costs 7490 euros. It comes with a Fox shock without a reservoir and 38 Rhythm fork with 170 millimetres of travel. The gears and brakes are from Sram's entry-level range: NX/SX groupset and DB8 stoppers.
The higher quality Gram RC costs 9900 Euro and has high-quality Fox Factory suspension. The 38 mm fork has one centimetre more travel at 180 millimetres. Shifting is wireless with Sram GX AXS, and Thok also leaves nothing to chance with the brakes and relies on Shimano's XT stoppers.
So much for the first manufacturer information on the new Thok Gram. As soon as we get our hands on the new enduro e-bike and take it out on the trails, we'll give you our detailed impression of the new Italo racer.
