With the Hybe 10.5, Haibike is adding a downhill-orientated model with top suspension to its E-MTB range. The aluminium frame is intended to reduce the price somewhat, while 170/160 millimetres and a proven geometry promise a wide range of uses.

It's not always easy to keep track of Haibike's e-mountainbikes. The best example: the All Mtn. Originally presented with Yamaha enginethe bike was available soon also with a completely different frame and Bosch motor. But this bike was also called All Mtn. And this Bosch bike in turn is called Hybe despite the unchanged framework since 2023 - based on Haibikes Light-E-MTB Lyke. And now there's a new Hybe, but now with a completely different frame and a Yamaha instead of a Bosch motor. Confused? Never mind! Curtain up for the Haibike Hybe 10.5 and open your eyes when choosing a bike!

The e-bike motor in the Hybe 10.5

The Hybe 10.5 features the new Yamaha PW-XM motor. This special version of the classic Yamaha drive differs from its smaller brother, the PW-X3, primarily due to its magnesium housing. At just over 2.6 kilos, the PW-XM is the lightest motor in the 85 Newton metre class, but still lags somewhat behind the competition in terms of performance. The drive is operated via a minimalist remote, an LED display sits behind the handlebars and shows the absolute basics of the rpm level and battery status.

Frame and geometry of the Hybe 10.5

Unlike the Hybe bikes with a Bosch motor, Haibike have opted for an all-aluminium frame for the Hybe 10.5 with Yamaha motor, which is confusingly made of aluminium. the frame of the Nduro models looks very similar. However, the Hybe 10.5 has "only" 170 / 160 millimetres of travel.

With its long wheelbase, long chainstays and slack head angle, the geometry is designed for a smooth ride, and the compact reach and high stack should make the Hybe 10.5 very comfortable and upright. Unfortunately, like the Nduro, the Hybe 10.5 is likely to be quite heavy. In view of the stably selected equipment (see below), a weight of 26 to 27 kilograms is realistic, the permissible total weight is just 120 kilograms.

Features and price of the Haibike Hybe 10.5

With Rockshox Ultimate suspension, super grippy Maxxis Assegai at the front and Magura MT7, the Haibike Hybe 10.5 is fully designed for riding fun in difficult terrain. The GX Eagle transmission should shine with durability even under demanding conditions. Unfortunately, as with the Haibike Hybe with Bosch motor, the price of the 10.5 is once again quite ambitious. 7999 euros are due for the bike according to the list.

  • Fork / Shock: Rockshox Zeb Ultimate / Superdeluxe Ultimate
  • Gear system: Sram GX Transmission (12-speed)
  • Brakes: Magura MT7
  • Wheels: DT Swiss H1900 Spline
  • Tyres: Maxxis Assegai MaxxGrip Exo+ / DHR II DD tyres
