Haibike has presented the new Hybe in two versions. The models go by the names Hybe 9 and Hybe 11. The all-mountain bike is primarily characterised by its racing character for uphill and downhill riding and strong suspension.
The frame of the Haibike Hybe is an old acquaintance: It comes from the Haibike AllMtn CF SE (the frame was newly developed for this model) and will be used again on the new Hybe 9 and Hybe 11 models. The main frame is made of carbon and is combined with an aluminium rear triangle. The rear offers 160 millimetres of travel, while the 170 mm forks are new for the Hybe, making the geometry even more downhill-oriented.
The Bosch Powertube 750 can be pulled out of the frame from below when the all-mountain bike is lying on its side. The Haibike MRS (Modular Rail System) is installed on the frame. This allows the rider to mount MRS-compatible accessories in any position using the MRS Multimount, so that they always have the most important things with them.
The motors of the two new all-mountain bikes come from Bosch. The Haibike Hybe 9 is fitted with the Bosch Performance CX Smart System, while the Hybe 11 is equipped with the Bosch Performance CX-R. They each deliver 250 W and have a maximum torque of 85 Nm. The motors, which provide support up to a speed of 25 km/h, get their power from Bosch PowerTube batteries, which are installed in the frame and can be removed. A 210 Wh range extender can be optionally installed to - as the name suggests - increase the range and enable even longer mountain bike tours.
The fork on the Hybe 9 is a RockShox ZEB Select RC, while the Hybe 11 has a FOX 38 Factory, both with 170 millimetres of travel. The air-sprung shock, which should be suitable for fast up- and downhill rides, is a RockShox Deluxe Select Plus on the Hybe 9, while the Hybe 11 has a FOX Float X Factory shock. The suspension travel is 170 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear.
The rear derailleur of the Hybe 9 is the NX Eagle from Sram. The Hybe 11 is equipped with the Sram GX Eagle AXS rear derailleur. The Hybe 9 is fitted with a Shimano CN-M6100 chain, the Hybe 11 with a Sram SX Eagle. There are also differences in the chainring: the Hybe 9 has a steel chainring, while Haibike uses aluminium for the Hybe 11.
The Hybe 9 brakes front and rear with Shimano SLX M7120 aluminium brakes (203 mm), the Hybe 11 with Magura MT5, also 203 mm. Both models have different sized tyres at the front and rear: 29" at the front, 27.5" at the rear. Both All Mountains ride on Maxxis tyres: Minion DHF 3C MaxxTerra/EXO/TR at the front and Minion DHR II MAxxTerra/Exo+/TR at the rear.
The Hybe 9 has the Haibike Components TheBar ++ (780 mm) handlebar, the Hybe 11 has the Raceface Atlas (785 mm). The grips are the Haibike MTB grips.
The Haibike Hybe 9 comes in the colours Metallic Caramel Street, Black Ink, Luscious Red and Light Warm Grey at a price of 7999 euros. The Hybe 11 is available in the colours Neon Pink, Deep Magenta and - new - Pearl Blue. Cost point here: an impressive 10,999 euros. So much technology in an E-All Mountain Bike has its price.
