The new Pivot Shuttle LT aims to be fast and versatile. And with more suspension travel, it delivers even more downhill fun. The template was provided by the Race-Enduro Firebird.
"With the aim of expanding our Shuttle family with a bike with more suspension travel, we took the Firebird as the basis. The LT not only impresses with its plush, downhill-orientated handling, but also as a versatile all-rounder," says Pivot founder and CEO Chris Cocalis.
As with the Predecessor model Pivot does its own thing when it comes to battery integration. Pivot has developed its own 756 Wh battery for the Shimano EP8 motor, which has been positioned low down in the frame. This should also benefit handling and ride feel thanks to a central and lower centre of gravity. As with Specialized or Canyon, the battery is removed from the bottom.
Pivot has designed the frame itself around a wide 157 Super Boost hub at the rear for high rigidity. The suspension travel is managed by the typical DW-Link rear triangle, which is designed to combine a high level of drive neutrality with a lot of pop and yet a high absorption capacity and a lot of sensitivity downhill.
The new Pivot Shuttle LT is available in sizes S to XL and in two colour variants - Northern Lights and Bass Boat Tri Tone. The Ride equipment variant is solid. SLX brakes with large brake discs, functional shifting technology and an aluminium cockpit and wheels do not, however, radiate the glamour that one would expect for the almost five-figure purchase price of 9999 euros.
Only the top Team model offers more luxury with the shimmering gold Fox Factory suspension including a matching telescopic seat post, Shimano XTR parts, carbon handlebars and lighter wheels - which then cost €11,999.
