We put 11 bikes to the test in our big price-performance comparison. But of course the MTB market consists of more than 11 offers. We took a look around and put together the most attractive bargains with the best discounts.

If you are looking for good value for money, you should keep your eyes open for discounts. However attractive the new price of our test bikes may be, discounted alternatives may still be worth a look. If you invest a little time and don't commit to a specific model, you can currently get discounts of up to 45 per cent savings find. From inexpensive entry-level models to luxury bikes with high-end equipment, various retailers sell everything at a bargain price. Although it takes a bit of luck to find the perfect deal with the right frame size, a little research is always worthwhile. To complete our big price-performance comparison with a total of 11 MTBs, we have put together three hardtails and three fullys with substantial discounts.

1st BMC Twostroke 01 Five: 1400 instead of 2200 euros

Currently reduced by 36 per cent, the BMC Twostroke 01 Five is wooing cross-country racers with a sleek carbon frame with progressive geometry. For a bargain price, the Swiss company offers functional Shimano Deore equipment. The bargain is currently available at bike24.

2nd Ragley Big Wig: 1650 instead of 3000 euros

The "Big Wig", as the Ragley Big Wig is called, is currently 45 per cent cheaper at Chain Reaction Cycles. With a timeless steel frame and 140 millimetres of suspension travel, the trail hardtail is an ideal piece of sports equipment for the upcoming winter.

3rd Vitus Sentier 27 VRS: 1760 instead of 2200 euros

The Vitus Sentier 27 VRS is currently on sale at Chain Reaction Cycles with a price saving of 20 per cent. Thanks to agile 27.5-inch wheels and 2.6-inch wide tyres, all signs point to riding fun. The Fox Float 34 Rhythm has 140 millimetres of travel.

4. Kona Process 153 DL: 2950 instead of 4700 euros

6. Radon Skeen Trail AL 7.0: 1700 instead of 2500 euros

Thanks to current discounts of up to 32 per cent, the Trail-Fully from Radon even cheaper than many equally equipped hardtails. With a solid aluminium frame paired with a Shimano SLX Deore mix and Magura brakes, you can't go far wrong with this entry-level bike from the Bonn-based direct mail order company. Let's be honest: very few people buy a bike at list price. It's really amazing how much of a discount you can find after a quick online search.
