Upper Bavaria is not Arizona. It pisses here. Mostly when we go out for testing. Even in the sunny summer of 2022, we caught the rainy days with frightening precision. Call us rain specialists, because we are. The DFL Suit from Platzangst is therefore a frequently worn item of clothing.

Super: the fit. Nothing constricts, nothing stretches, that's how it should be. We wore a size M with a height of 1.80 metres. Good: the details. Such as the hood (fits well over the helmet) or the air vents under the armpits.

But enough of the prelude, because a rain suit must be able to do one thing above all: be waterproof in all conditions. The Platzangst DFL Suit achieves this. Most of the time. When the heavens open all the floodgates and the rear tyre sprays your bum with fountains, it's bound to get wet at some point. Water on one side and pressure on the other is a bad combination for membranes. The one in the Platzangst suit is designed for a 10 metre water column, but even that is no longer enough. Nevertheless: good rain protection. Some suits for more than twice as much money don't do any better.

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
