It was a special day for a special athlete: Nino Schurter completed his last Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide at the weekend. Of course, a special bike was not to be missed: an exclusive special edition of the Scott Spark RC.

After two decades of victories, records and unforgettable moments, Nino Schurter has written his final chapter in the Mountain Bike World Cup. Even though 24th place is probably more of a disappointment for the record-breaking world champion, he clearly enjoyed his last race.

For many, he is simply the "GOAT" - the greatest rider of all time. To mark this historic moment, his long-standing partners Scott and Sram have created a unique bike: the Scott Spark RC X N1NO Special Edition.

A tribute on two wheels

The design of the special edition bears Nino's unmistakable heritage. The paintwork is inspired by the Swiss national colours, with wild splashes of colour symbolising speed and Nino's tireless will to win. The substance of his career shimmers out from beneath the worn-looking red, while the legendary rainbow stripes honour the multiple world champion. The inscription "Greatest Of All Time" is confidently emblazoned on the seat tube - a statement that hardly anyone questions.

Small details also celebrate Schurter's unparalleled career: a collage of pictures of his greatest successes is placed on the shock, and component manufacturers Sram, Rockshox, Syncros and Maxxis have contributed their latest technologies to equip the champion for his last race in the best possible way.

The special model was built by Yanick Gygerthe long-time chief technician of the Scott-Sram team. It was an emotional highlight for him:

"It was an honour to build Nino's farewell bike. To be honest, it's one of the most beautiful designs we've ever realised." - Yanick "the mechanic" Gyger

So when Nino Schurter competes in the World Cup for the last time in Lenzerheide, he won't just be riding a high-tech bike. He will be riding a piece of history - a tribute to a career that has shaped the sport of mountain biking like no other.
