Birthday present: Yeti ASR 40th Anniversary special model

Yeti Cycles is setting a special accent in the trail segment with the presentation of the limited edition ASR anniversary model. The special edition of the popular trail bike, limited to 200 units, marks the 40th anniversary of the cult brand from Colorado. The anniversary model picks up on the iconic turquoise colour scheme that made Yeti famous in the 1990s and combines it with state-of-the-art chassis technology and high-quality components.

This means that the new Yeti ASR perfectly combines the brand's DNA with today's innovations. The carbon frame of the ASR has 115 millimetres of travel at the rear and 130 millimetres at the front and has been optimised for demanding trails. The geometry with a 66.1 degree head angle, 75 degree seat angle and 439 millimetre chainstays in size L ensures balanced handling in technical terrain.

However, it's not just the exclusivity, but also the equipment that arouses desire with components from Chris King, Sram, Fox Factory, DT Swiss, Maxxis, ODI and Bike Yoke.Photo: Yeti-CyclesHowever, it's not just the exclusivity, but also the equipment that arouses desire with components from Chris King, Sram, Fox Factory, DT Swiss, Maxxis, ODI and Bike Yoke.

High-quality equipment for trail performance

The equipment of the anniversary model includes a Fox 34 SL Factory fork with Grip-X cartridge, a Fox Float SL Factory shock and a Sram XX 12-speed drivetrain. The carbon rims with 30 millimetre rim width of the DT Swiss XMC 1200 wheels are fitted with Maxxis Forekaster tyres in 29 x 2.4 inch.

Reliable deceleration is ensured by the new Sram Motive Ultimate four-piston brakes with 180-millimetre discs front and rear. The cockpit area is dominated by a combination of 760 Yeti carbon handlebars and Bikeyoke stem. A Fox Transfer Neo Factory seatpost with 150 millimetre travel rounds off the equipment. According to the manufacturer, the total weight of the bike in size M is 11.07 kilograms.

Limited edition & exclusive details

The anniversary edition of the ASR is limited to 200 units worldwide. Each one bears an individual serial number on the down tube. In addition to the turquoise-grey colour scheme, the bike features numerous exclusive details.

Availability & Price

Yeti Cycles is planning to release the ASR 40th Anniversary today, 3 April 2025, and it will be sold through selected Yeti dealers worldwide. The recommended retail price for the limited edition model is 15,900 euros. Interested parties can register with participating dealers as of now.

Due to the limited number of units, the manufacturer expects demand to be high. Yeti emphasises that each bike is built individually by hand and undergoes strict quality control before delivery.

Even though the 40th anniversary special model of the Yeti ASR is built for trail biking, one or two of the bikes are likely to end up in the showcase. The brand's bikes are cult, genuine classics from the legendary 90s are traded like works of art and exhibited in museums - and we can hold our noses in front of them.
