Continental Dubnital 32”: The first 32-inch tyre from Korbach

The new 32-inch wheel size has long been more than just a theoretical concept. Now German tyre giant Continental has also unveiled its first model for these giant wheels. And it won’t be the last, as we can see from the press release. But let’s get to the facts: with the Dubnital, the tyre manufacturer has unveiled its first model for the new wheel size. This fast-rolling all-rounder is designed to cover the range between cross-country and gravel riding. Continental has announced that it will be available worldwide from April 2027.

A familiar profile for the larger size

For the 32-inch Dubnital, Continental has scaled the tread pattern to suit the larger tyre size. According to the manufacturer, this should enable the tyre to maintain momentum well, roll over obstacles more easily and offer greater traction and a smoother ride. In the spring, Conti had the The Dubnital, in a 50 mm width, has now been officially launched as a gravel tyre.

In terms of construction, Continental has opted for a lightweight Race casing and the Rapid rubber compound, which is designed to minimise rolling resistance. This combination is intended to ensure efficient rolling. The manufacturer also promises reduced fatigue on long rides and over rough terrain – classic features of the large 32-inch tyres, which are designed to conserve energy, particularly on challenging gravel terrain. A practical test will have to show how the tyre actually performs in this new size. Continental has not yet provided any weight figures. Continental responds to new framework concepts

With the Dubnital, Continental aims to provide suitable tyres for new wheel and frame designs at an early stage. Alexander Hänke, MTB & Gravel Product Manager at Continental Tyres, explains: “The growing interest in 32-inch wheels is impossible to ignore. The aim is to ensure that our riders can immediately benefit from Continental’s cutting-edge technologies, even with new wheel sizes.”

Continental sees the launch of the Dubnital as a response to changing requirements and geometries. The manufacturer has not yet named any specific further 32-inch models. However, it clearly refers to this as “a first glimpse into its entry into the 32-inch segment.” Further products are unlikely to be long in coming.

The 32-inch Continental Dubnital Race Rapid is set to be available worldwide from April 2027. No details on price or weight are available yet.
