SQlabs’ new limited edition of the 611 Active 2.1 is designed for trail and downhill riding and is intended to offer comfort, particularly on longer rides. The new beige and green version looks so good it’ll have you itching for your next adventure. Here’s what the New SQlab 611 Active 2.1 Ltd. Escape:

Stepped design and pressure-relief zone

The ERGOWAVE contour is designed to distribute pressure specifically across the sit bones. In addition to the saddle’s shape, the correct width is particularly crucial for this: SQlab offers the 611 active 2.1 ltd. Escape in four widths. A central recess and the lowered nose of the saddle are designed to reduce pressure on sensitive areas. SQlab states that perineal relief is 65 per cent.

For off-road use, the manufacturer combines MTB-specific padding with reinforced edges and an upper made from polyamide fabric. This is designed to make the saddle more durable on rough trails.

Adjustable saddle for long rides

With the active system, the saddle can move sideways in a controlled manner. This is designed to allow the pelvis to follow the pedalling motion. According to SQlab, this can relieve pressure on the lower back, particularly on longer climbs. Whether this feels comfortable for the individual also depends on how the system is adjusted.

A medium-hardness elastomer is fitted as standard. A white and a black elastomer, for customisation, are available separately from the SQlab online shop or specialist retailers.
