Saddle

- SLR Gravel Elite: Gravel saddle with Bow Rail System, removable protective insert and reflective side edges for improved visibility.
- The protective insert prevents water from splashing into the padding and can be removed for better ventilation; saddle comfort remains highly individual.
- Price: €199.90, in the upper mid-range; the more affordable SLR Gravel Advan offers the same features but is around 19 g heavier (S3 version).

Selle Italia SLR Gravel review: a gravel saddle with a mudguard

- Signature models sometimes offer genuine technical benefits thanks to feedback from professionals, but are sometimes purely a marketing ploy featuring a new design.
- Psychologically, they serve to transfer trust and foster a sense of belonging between fans, brands and athletes.
- For amateur riders, despite all the hype, a setup that suits their riding style matters more than World Cup-oriented or branded products.

SEEDS

- SQlab offers a four-piece ergonomic set comprising handlebars, handlebar tape, a saddle and cycling shorts for long gravel and bikepacking tours.
- The handlebars, grip tape and saddle are designed to improve posture, minimise pressure points and reduce vibrations; the shorts complement this by providing support directly against the body.
- The set is intended as a coordinated system for all contact points, but requires individual adjustment and, ideally, a test ride before purchase.

Gravel ergonomics from SQlab: handlebars, saddle and cycling shorts, all designed as a single, cohesive unit

- With UNICA, Selle Italia offers bespoke 3D saddles based on biomechanical analyses and pressure distribution measurements.
- At authorised UNICA centres, bike fitters use a digital camera and the idmatch Pressure Map System to map the load zones and transmit the data digitally.
- Available for the SLR 3D Carbon, SLR 3D Elite and Novus Boost Evo 3D models, with personalised engraving, a report and delivery in around three weeks.

Selle Italia UNICA: 3D saddles manufactured to individual pressure data

- Selle San Marco is launching the Shortfit Allroad range, featuring short saddles, a corrugated profile, the Bow Rail System and an integrated shock absorber.
- The Sport model with steel struts is aimed at gravel newcomers and costs around 90 euros; all models are available in sizes S and L.
- The Racing and Supercomfort Racing models feature Xsilite rails, whilst the top-of-the-range model, with gel padding for added comfort, is priced at around 190 euros.

Shortfit: Short saddles from Selle San Marco

- Selle Italia is expanding its SLR range with the SLR-XC platform for modern cross-country and marathon races; sales will begin in October.
- Four models (3D Carbon, Carbon, Elite, Advan) differ in terms of strut material, padding, damping and price, ranging from €124.90 to €399.90.
- A longer 250 mm shape, wider nose, slender tail, reinforced sides and space for a dropper post are designed to improve freedom of movement and control during races.

Selle Italia SLR XC: New racing saddle for MTBs

- A flexible plastic core, firm padding and a large central cut-out ensure a high level of comfort that can be tailored to the individual, despite the flat shape.
- An almost fully enclosed underside, an integrated recessed grip and reinforced sides enhance suitability for everyday use, ease of cleaning and durability.
- The modular design with replaceable parts is designed for ease of repair; prices: €109.99 (Ti-MX, ~248 g) and €79.99 (4130 CroMo).

Peaty’s Monarch review: A robust MTB saddle with a clever service concept

- The Joyseat 3.0 TT is a bespoke 3D-printed saddle, designed specifically for time trial and triathlon bikes with a forward-rotated pelvic position.
- New TriMesh padding with variable triangular cells offers approx. 28% more controlled suspension travel and more even pressure distribution.
- Unique TT geometry with gender-specific nose shape, individual adjustment right up to the nose area, price €599, weight from 155 g.

Posedla Joyseat 3.0 TT: Posedla launches a 3D-printed triathlon saddle

- The new Highline features a reduced insertion depth, a height of 45 mm and an internally adjustable stroke (up to 20 mm in 5 mm increments, without the need for disassembly).
- An encapsulated emulsion cartridge, a smaller actuator and lower operating force are intended to improve performance, space efficiency and ease of use.
- Advantages: wide stroke range (60–230 mm), wide selection of diameters; outstanding issues: long-term reliability, lack of weight specifications.

The new Crankbrothers Highline: this Vario seatpost makes extremely effective use of its travel

- Mountain bike saddle designed for long days on the trails, featuring an ergonomic shape, a 40 mm pressure-relief channel and Throne Foam padding for comfort
- Fully disassemblable, serviceable design with individually replaceable rails, robust side panels and 24% ocean plastic in the PU cover
- Two rail options (titanium 240 g, 4130 CrMo 262 g), five colours, 30-day comfort guarantee, focus on durability rather than minimal weight

Peaty’s Monarch: New MTB saddle focuses on comfort, service and sustainability

- With the Elevator, Intend is launching its first dropper seatpost featuring adjustable air progression (SafeSpace) and a closed, sealed lower section.
- The seatpost utilises dual slide bearings, oil lubrication and bronze-PTFE bushings for smooth movement and reduced play under load.
- Stroke lengths 150–190 mm, diameter 31.6 mm, 564 g; Elevator Boy Remote with cable pull, 27 g, compatible with cable-operated dropper posts.

Intend Elevator Dropper-Post: The Elevator Boys from Freiburg and Taiwan

- The range features 14 specific gravel components, from pedals, saddles and tyres right through to clothing, bags and tools.
- The focus is on greater comfort, efficiency and storage space for gravel riding, for example through suspension, additional bags and optimised hydration solutions.
- Many components are designed for low weight, robust materials and ease of use in gravel conditions.
