The innovative Syntace brand stands for sophisticated components that harmonise lightweight construction and durability. The Vector carbon handlebars, conceived by mastermind and Syntace founder Jo Klieber, have long been an integral part of downhill mountain bikes. The Bavarian brand is now part of Pierer Industrie AG. The product range is being revamped for 2025. In addition to handlebars and stems, there are also new wheels, which we present in a separate article.

Vector Carbon Volt OD 35: Precise carbon handlebars with integrated cable routing

With the Vector Carbon Volt OD 35, Syntace presents a new high-performance handlebar for demanding trail, enduro and downhill applications. According to the manufacturer, the 780 millimetre wide carbon handlebar combines maximum stability with precise steering behaviour and noticeable vibration damping and uses a 35 mm clamp.

Thanks to a specially adapted carbon layup with new fibre types and an elaborate arrangement of the fibre layers with a load-oriented cross-section, the handlebars should hold up reliably even under the toughest conditions. Massive safety reserves are provided even in the event of a crash Proven Syntace virtues, which the parts have already demonstrated several times in tests.

The Vector Carbon Volt OD 35 is e-bike-ready and has internal cable routing that conceals cables for lighting or control units. If the cable routing is not required, it remains completely concealed. A titanium mesh reinforcement in the clamping zone is designed to protect the carbon structure from high tightening forces and contribute to durability.

The handlebars are available in three different rise variants (20, 35 and 50 millimetres) and with 8, 12 or 16 degrees of backsweep. With a weight of 212 grams, the Vector Carbon Volt OD 35 is positioned in the middle range of comparable carbon handlebars.

Syntace Megaforce 3.5: Compact stem with 35 mm clamp

The Megaforce 3.5 is Syntace's answer to the requirements of modern trail, enduro and downhill bikes. The compact stem was specially developed for wide handlebars with a clamping dimension of 35 millimetres and is designed to ensure maximum stiffness with minimum weight.

The CNC-milled aluminium construction combines extreme stability with high load-bearing capacity, says Syntace. Support ribs forged before milling specifically reinforce areas subject to high stress and save weight in less critical areas.

According to Syntace, a 200° head with four titanium screws enables a high but gentle handlebar clamping force and better force distribution compared to slotted clamps. An additional opening on the underside of the Megaforce 3.5 allows clean cable routing on e-bikes, especially in combination with the Vector Carbon Volt OD 35 handlebars. The stem is available in 40 and 50 millimetre lengths and weighs 124 grams in the shorter version.

Technical data Megaforce 3.5:

  • Field of application: Trail, All Mountain, Enduro, Downhill, E-MTB
  • Length: 40 and 50 mm
  • Handlebar clamp: 35 mm
  • Shank clamping: 28.6 mm (1 1/8")
  • Material: Forged aluminium, CNC machined
  • Weight: 124 g
  • E-bike-ready: Yes, compatible with internal cable routing
  • Price: 119 Euro (RRP)

Syntace Spaceforce swivelling stem now also for 35 mm handlebars

Also new is the 35 mm version of the swivelling Spaceforce stem. The highlight of this product: the stem can be quickly rotated by 90 degrees using a folding mechanism without opening the clamp on the steerer tube. This means that the bike can be stored in a particularly space-saving manner, for example on the rear rack or in the garage. And because no screws need to be tightened, the stem can be mounted straight and ready for use again in seconds. Cost: 298 euros.
