Ergon is expanding its successful GP grip series with the new GP2 Evo and GP3 Evo models. The ergonomically shaped grips with integrated bar ends are designed to prevent discomfort in the hands and arms. Thanks to optimised pressure distribution and vibration-damping materials, they promise more long-distance comfort for touring cyclists.

The new Ergon models GP2 Evo and GP3 Evo complement the already available GP1 Evo and should ensure pain-free riding, especially on medium and long tours.

Ergon GP grips against hand problems

According to the manufacturer, discomfort in the hands, fingers and forearms can be easily remedied in most cases by choosing the right grip. The wing shape of the GP Evo grips, available in two sizes, is perfectly adapted to the hand and ensures an almost complete form fit between hand and grip. This prevents the wrist from buckling, improves pressure distribution and effectively prevents numbness by relieving the ulnar nerve.

A key new feature of the GP2 Evo and GP3 Evo is the vibration-damping bar ends, which are designed to allow the hand position and upper body posture to be varied. This should ensure relaxation in the hands, arms and back on every tour. The completely redesigned two-finger bar end on the GP2 Evo and the three-finger bar end on the GP3 Evo can be individually adjusted independently of the grip. The alternative gripping positions are designed to relieve strain on the hands and back. For additional comfort, the bar ends are fully encased in non-slip rubber, which is intended to dampen vibrations and improve the riding experience.

According to Ergon, it attaches particular importance to the use of high-quality and pollutant-free materials. The SGS-tested, medical LongLife rubber compounds are said to be unique for bicycle grips. These advantages are particularly important for touring cyclists, as their hands often have direct skin contact with the grips for hours without gloves. The entire production process for the GP Evo grips is also designed to be virtually waste-free, according to the manufacturer. Both the GP2 Evo and the GP3 Evo are also available in a BioKork version (>> z. e.g. here) available. The new handles are made in Germany.

Customised adjustment for optimum fit

An important feature of the new GP Evo grips is the ability to customise them. The integrated aluminium outer clamp fixes the grip with just one screw, which should enable secure and simple installation. The wing angle can be adjusted continuously and ergonomically so that every rider can find the optimum position for them. The grips are available in two sizes: Small for hand sizes from 6.5 to 8.5 and Large for hand sizes from 8.5 to 10.5. This should enable precise adjustment to different hand sizes and further increase comfort.
