The Kronplatz Bike Park in South Tyrol is setting new standards in the gravity segment with the opening of the 2025 season today, 17 May. From now on, mountain bikers can once again use the Kronplatz 2000 lift to access the legendary Herrnsteig trail and its variants. In the following weeks, all other trails on Plan de Corones/Kronplatz will gradually be opened for biking.
The local trail team has been working over the past few months to get the trails in optimum condition to ensure a great start to the season. Bikers can look forward to one of the longest, most varied and challenging trails in the national and international gravity sector.
For the 2025 season, the Bikepark Kronplatz has implemented a number of innovations to further improve the riding experience. One of the most important measures is the introduction of standardised signage for the entire trail network. This should ensure greater safety, especially in areas that are shared with hikers.
The trail builders are also currently working on a new connecting route specially designed for children. This will connect the mountain station of the Ruis cable car with the start of the Furcia Trail and should guarantee the youngest bikers more safety and riding fun.
Even more bike park action:
A special highlight awaits the mountain bike community from 20 to 22 June 2025, when the entire trail network will be accessible via the lifts. The opening will be accompanied by a large festival with an event village on the spectacular Kronplatz summit plateau. This event offers bikers the opportunity to explore the entire trail network and enjoy the unique atmosphere on the mountain summit at the same time.
The Bikepark Kronplatz presents a varied event programme for the 2025 season that covers various facets of mountain biking. The KronplatzKing Bike Marathon will take place on 30 August.
Enduro fans can look forward to the Enduro Tirol on 13 and 14 September. The racing season ends with the Coppa Italia DH from 3 to 5 October, which will captivate downhill enthusiasts.
In addition to the competitions, the bike park also offers opportunities to improve your riding technique. The SAAC Bike Camps take place on 12 and 13 July and on 11 and 12 October directly in the Bikepark Kronplatz and are aimed at mountain bikers who want to develop their skills.
The successful collaboration between the Kronplatz Bike Park and Cube Bikes will continue in the 2025 season. This cooperation promises visitors even more style and quality on the trails. As a special thank you, the first 100 buyers of a Kronplatz season pass will receive a high-quality technical hip belt in the exclusive Bikepark Kronplatz design as a gift. This promotion emphasises the bike park's commitment to offering its guests not only first-class trails, but also attractive additional services.
Thomas Reiter, Director of Skirama Kronplatz, emphasises the strategy for the coming season: "We want to build on the success and continuous visitor growth of recent years. This year, our focus is therefore on consolidating the previous innovations."
Reiter particularly emphasises the excellent condition of the trails, which the team aims to maintain at the highest level until November. The bike park is also investing more in optimising the signage in order to further increase safety for all users. Reiter sees this as a solid basis for tackling larger and new projects in the coming years.
With the opening on 17 May 2025, the Kronplatz Bike Park is starting a promising season. The combination of tried-and-tested routes, new features and a varied event programme promises mountain bikers of all abilities an unforgettable biking experience in the South Tyrolean Dolomites.
The continuous investment in infrastructure and safety underlines the bike park's endeavours to further expand its position as one of the leading mountain bike destinations in the Alps. Interested parties can find all information on opening times, tickets, trail conditions and holiday planning at any time on the official website of the Bikepark Kronplatz.
