Trek Powerfly 5 Gen 4

The 2023 "Powerfly 5 Gen 4" from Trek is a versatile e-mountain bike designed for challenging rides. Priced at 4,299 EUR, this model offers a combination of high-quality materials and advanced technology. The frame is made from Alpha Platinum aluminium and features a removable integrated battery (RIB), a tapered head tube, internal Control Freak cable routing, as well as Motor Armor and Boost148 with a 12 mm thru-axle. The maximum permissible weight is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 21 kg.

The braking system consists of Tektro HD-M745 hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes, both front and rear, with Centre Lock and 203 mm brake discs. The rear derailleur and shift levers are from the Shimano Deore M6100 series and offer 12-speed shifting. The RockShox Recon Silver RL fork, featuring Solo Air suspension, a Motion Control damper and lockout, as well as 120 mm of travel, ensures optimum suspension and control.

Other features include VP-536 nylon platform pedals, an ethirteen espec Plus crankset with 165 mm crank arm length, and a Shimano Deore M6100 cassette with 10–51 teeth. The handlebars are a Bontrager aluminium model with a diameter of 31.8 mm, 15 mm rise and a width of 750 mm, complemented by Bontrager XR Endurance Comp grips with screw-on clamps. The stem is also by Bontrager and is Blendr-compatible, with a 7-degree angle and a length of 70 mm.

The bike is fitted with Bontrager XR3 Comp tyres, mounted on a Bontrager Kovee wheelset. The saddle is a Bontrager Commuter Comp model, whilst the seatpost is made of aluminium and has a length of 400 mm and a 12 mm offset. The seatpost clamp is a bolt-on model with a diameter of 36.4 mm.

The Powerfly 5 Gen 4 is powered by a Bosch Performance Line CX motor with Smart System, delivering 85 Nm of torque. The battery is a Bosch PowerTube with a capacity of 625 Wh, which is also part of the Smart System. The Bosch Intuvia 100 display allows for easy control and monitoring of the system. The battery is charged using a standard Bosch charger rated at 4 A at 230 V.

The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 45 mm, a stack of 67 mm, a seat tube length of 52 mm, a top tube length of 67 mm, a head tube angle of 68 degrees and a head tube length of 16 mm. The chainstay length is 46 mm, the standover height is 82 mm and the wheelbase is 121 mm.
