Clear proportions: The Rail is for the sports clientele, while the Powerfly is aimed at commuters and tourers. Can the FS 7 also switch to off-road mode?

Until 2019, the Powerfly was the unrivalled ruler of the Trek E-mountainbike line-up. Then it got in-house competition in the form of the Rail: the sporty 150 mm fully (Trailfully test in EMTB 6/2020) was henceforth to appeal to the pleasure-seeking trail clientele, while the Powerfly was only aimed at touring bikers. For the 2021 model generation, the Americans are drawing the dividing line even more clearly, the mission of the Powerfly FS is now: All-in-one.

Reduced suspension travel, moderate geometry, a comfortable riding position, mixed with well-profiled trail tyres - the primary aim is to appeal to commuters and forest road riders, but also to give them the option of turning off the gravel road onto unpaved terrain.
