Stevens Tonga 29"

The “Tonga 29” model from Stevens, released in 2020, is a versatile mountain bike characterised by its robust construction and well-balanced specifications. The frame is made from 6061 aluminium, which gives the bike high stability whilst keeping its weight moderate. With a maximum load capacity of 115 kg and a kerb weight of 14 kg, the bike offers a good balance between load-bearing capacity and lightness.

The Tonga 29” is fitted with Shimano BR-MT200 disc brakes, operated by Shimano BL-MT200 brake levers. This combination ensures reliable and precise braking. The gear system consists of a Shimano Alivio Shadow RD-M4000-SGS with 2x9 speeds, operated via Shimano Acera SL-M3000/3010 shift levers. The front derailleur is a Shimano Altus FD-M3000-TSM6, which ensures smooth gear changes.

For a comfortable ride over uneven terrain, the bike is fitted with an SR Suntour XCM HLO suspension fork, which offers 100 mm of travel. The pedals are MTB flat pedals, which ensure a secure connection between rider and bike. The bottom bracket is a BSA 73 mm, whilst the crankset is a Shimano FC-MT210-2 with 36-22 teeth. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG200 with a 9-speed range.

The handlebars and stem are both from Oxygen Driver, with the handlebars measuring 700 mm in width. The headset is a STEVENS MTB 1 1/8". The rims are Oxygen COMP-D X19 in sizes 19 x 584 and 19 x 622, combined with Schwalbe Smart Sam Active-Line tyres in sizes 57-584 and 622, which ensure good grip and stability. The hubs are Shimano TX505, guaranteeing reliable wheel bearings.

The saddle is an Oxygen Raceline, mounted on an Oxygen Driver seatpost, which provides additional comfort and adjustability. The Stevens Tonga 29" thus offers a well-thought-out combination of high-quality components and solid construction at a price of 599 EUR.
