At 1799 euros, the Stevens Sentiero is the most expensive bike in this test. We wanted to use this hardtail to test whether the extra 200 to 300 euros is really worth it. And lo and behold, in this hard-calculated price category, the additional money invested is directly reflected in the equipment. Apart from the Canyon, no other bike in the test field offers better components. The Fox 32 Float Rhythm suspension fork, Shimano XT cranks and easy-to-accelerate wheels stand out. Of course, this also has a positive effect on the overall weight.
The Stevens Sentiero is sporty on the trail. The slightly higher riser bar ensures a balanced riding position without overtaxing beginners. The handling is also immediately pleasing. The Fox fork convinces with a lot of comfort and fine response. The tyres are very narrow. We missed a protective sticker on the chainstay, but there is a tool hidden in the thru-axle.
In our overview article Hardtails from 1199 to 1799 euros: 9 sporty entry-level hardtails in the test you will find all the bikes tested.
The Stevens Sentiero is a good example of how a small surcharge can be absolutely worthwhile. The bike has a sporty feel, a well-functioning suspension fork and weighs very little.
