Scott Spark 900 Ultimate AXS

The 2021 "Spark 900 Ultimate AXS" model from Scott is a state-of-the-art mountain bike designed for demanding riders. Priced at 8,999 EUR, this bike offers a combination of advanced technology and high-quality components.

The Spark 900 Ultimate AXS frame is made from Spark 3 Carbon and utilises IMP Technology with HMX material. It features a BB92 bottom bracket, a carbon SMC Link and a carbon swingarm. The SW dropouts are designed for Boost 12x148mm axles, and the frame is compatible with tyres up to 2.6 inches wide. The TBC Trunnion Box Construction provides additional stability and stiffness.

The bike’s total weight is 11 kg, making it a lightweight yet robust companion on any trail. The brakes are Shimano XTR M9100 disc brakes, fitted with a Shimano RT-MT900 CL 180 mm front rotor, ensuring reliable braking performance.

The drivetrain is a SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS with 12 speeds and a wireless electronic shifting system. The shifter is the SRAM Eagle AXS Controller. The fork is a FOX 34 Float Factory Air with Kashima coating and FIT4 damping, offering three modes with low-speed adjustment. It features a Kabolt 15x110 mm axle and 130 mm of travel. The rear shock is a FOX NUDE EVOL Trunnion, specially tuned by SCOTT, with three modes (Lockout, Traction Control and Descend) and 120 mm of travel.

The bottom bracket is an integrated SRAM DUB PF with a shell width of 41x92mm. The crankset consists of SRAM XX1 DUB Eagle Boost carbon cranks with a Q-factor of 168 mm and a 32T chainring. The cassette is an SRAM XX1 / XG1299 with a 10–52T range. The drivetrain is completed by the SRAM CN XX1 Eagle chain.

The handlebars are Syncros Fraser 1.0 Carbon with a T-shape, a flat design and a width of 760 mm. The grips are Syncros Pro lock-on. The stem is a Syncros FL1.5 made from Alloy 2014 with integrated spacers and a top cap, a diameter of 31.8 mm and a 6° angle.

The headset is a Syncros Pro Drop-in, which tapers from 1.5" to 1 1/8" with bearing diameters of 42 mm and 52 mm. The tyres are Maxxis Rekon, 2.4" wide, tubeless-ready and featuring EXO 3C Maxx Terra technology.

The wheelset consists of Syncros Silverton 1.0 CL wheels, with a 15x110mm axle at the front and a 12x148mm Boost axle at the rear; both are tubeless-ready with a 26mm-wide carbon rim and 28 spokes. The saddle is a Syncros Belcarra Regular 1.0 with carbon rails, whilst the seatpost is a FOX Transfer Factory Dropper Post Kashima, available in sizes S (125mm) as well as M, L & XL (150mm).

The bike is also fitted with Syncros Trail Fender mudguards, which offer additional protection against mud and dirt. All in all, the Scott Spark 900 Ultimate AXS is a top-class mountain bike that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of both performance and features.
