HoheAcht BESTA DIO

The “BESTA DIO” model from the “HoheAcht” brand, launched in 2022, is a high-quality e-bike priced at 9,999 EUR, placing it in the upper price bracket. With a maximum permissible weight of 150 kg and a kerb weight of 21 kg, the bike offers a solid foundation for demanding rides.

The BESTA DIO’s braking system consists of Magura components, featuring four-piston hydraulic disc brakes at both the front and rear. The brake levers are made from carbon fibre and optimised for one-finger operation. The brake discs measure 203 mm at the front and 180 mm at the rear, both with Centre Lock mounting. Gear changes are handled by the SRAM XX1 Eagle system with a 12-speed derailleur, complemented by the SRAM XX1 Eagle shifter with pedal-assist function.

Suspension is provided by an Öhlins RXF36 M.2 Air suspension fork with 160 mm of travel and an Öhlins TTX2Air Universal Trunnion shock absorber with 65 mm of travel. These components offer excellent damping and control on rough terrain.

For lighting, the bike is fitted with an M-WAVE Atlas K 50 StVZO-compliant battery-powered light set, which provides a high-performance LED with 42 lumens at the front and 6 lumens at the rear. The pedals are made of aluminium and are from Marwi. The crankset is a Shimano Steps model, combined with an SRAM Eagle cassette offering a range of 10–52 teeth.

The handlebars are a ProTaper Carbon model with a width of 810 mm and an 8° bend, whilst the stem is also made from aluminium by ProTaper. The wheelset consists of Mavic E-Deemax S35 27.5'' aluminium rims, combined with Maxxis tyres (Assegai at the front and Dissector at the rear) in the 27.5'' x 2.6'' size. The hubs are also from Mavic and are compatible with Boost standards.

The bike is also fitted with a Fizik Tundra M5 saddle, mounted on a RockShox Reverb Stealth dropper seatpost. An ABUS lock provides additional security. The drivetrain is powered by a Shimano Steps DU-EP8 mid-drive motor with an output of 85 Nm, and the integrated battery offers a capacity of 630 Wh. The Shimano Steps SC-EM800 display enables easy operation and connectivity via Bluetooth and ANT Private.

Finally, the BESTA DIO’s geometry is designed for sporty riding: a reach of 483 mm, a stack of 628 mm, a head tube angle of 64 degrees and a seat tube angle of 76 degrees provide a balanced riding position for a variety of riding styles. With a wheelbase of 1279 mm and a chainstay length of 450 mm, the bike promises both stability and agility.
