The Hohe Acht Amola Tereno is something of a sedan chair for the all-terrain rider. This SUV e-bike is all about comfort - on any terrain.

You rarely see an E-Fully as a true step-through bike - and by low, we really mean a comfortable 40 centimetre step-through height. The heavily offset handlebars and the rather upright riding position on a wide saddle are also geared towards comfort fans. With twice twelve centimetres of suspension travel, it is guaranteed to be extremely comfortable. In fact, depending on the setting, the system flattens out anything that might get in the way in the city. But it also has disadvantages: You sit a little high, which usually forces you to get off the saddle when stopping (a lowerable seat post could compensate for this). On the other hand, the inside pedal on the Tereno comes into contact with the ground more quickly in fast bends - you have to get used to putting the pedal up early on.

High Eight Amola Tereno: Comfortable instead of sporty e-bike

With a heavily loaded pannier rack, the comfort of this e-bike is slightly reduced, as the rack on the unsprung part of the bike slows down the suspension dynamics - but that's complaining on a high level. The wide saddle and offset handlebars show: It's not about sporty top values here, but about people who want to go anywhere in any situation with the Hohe Acht Amola Tereno SUV bike. The handling of the bike is clearly geared towards straight-line stability: wide tyres, full suspension and a long wheelbase, among other things, create a very smooth ride, but there are small compromises in terms of manoeuvrability. The Shimano EP801 pedals powerfully up the climbs, preferably with a slightly higher cadence than its Bosch counterparts. In return, it works just as harmoniously and quietly.

Shifting is electronic with Shimano Deore and ergonomically shaped inching shifters on the handlebars. The Freeshift setting allows the gears of the 9-speed Cues derailleur to be changed without pedalling - very convenient and intuitive. There are also plenty of eye-catching details: the hydroformed frame and rear triangle are beautifully finished, the cables are neatly concealed in the headset and the short stem above is adjustable and sufficiently stiff. There are two mounts for Fidlock water bottles behind the headset. Hohe Acht offers a lot, and the € 5799 price tag is a realistic reflection of this. Desirable: a retractable seat post.

Others can be lively. Maximum comfort - even when getting on the bike -, strong all-round capabilities and lots of high-tech characterise this high-eight fully.
