Hercules Nos FS SUV 2.1

The “Nos FS SUV 2.1” from Hercules, launched in 2023, is a versatile e-mountain bike that, at a price of 5,999 euros, is positioned in the upper mid-range. The robust aluminium frame from the R13 series (AL 6061) provides a solid foundation for demanding off-road adventures and contributes to a maximum permissible weight of 150 kg. The bike’s total weight is 27 kg, which makes it relatively light despite its extensive specification.

The braking system consists of high-quality Shimano Deore XT hydraulic disc brakes (MT8120), fitted with 203 mm brake discs at both the front and rear. The Shimano BL-M8100 and BL-MT8100 brake levers ensure precise and reliable braking performance in all conditions. The bike’s drivetrain is also fitted with Shimano Deore XT components, featuring an RD-M8100 12-speed rear derailleur and an SL-M8100 shifter, which ensure a smooth and efficient shifting experience.

Suspension is provided by the Rock Shox 35 Gold fork with 150 mm of travel and Motion Control, as well as a Rock Shox Deluxe Select shock absorber, also offering 150 mm of travel, ensuring a comfortable ride on uneven terrain. The lighting system consists of a Hercules FF-100 front light with a daytime running light sensor and high-beam function, which reaches up to 150 lux, as well as a Hercules R-Glow LED rear light.

The bike’s drive system is powered by a high-performance EP8 motor with 250 watts and 85 Nm of torque, which is powered by a Simplo Intube battery with a capacity of 630 Wh. The Shimano E6100 display offers intuitive operation and an overview of all key riding data. Charging is handled by a Simplo 2 A charger.

The bike is fitted with Schwalbe Johnny Watts Performance tyres (65-584), mounted on Rodi TRYP30/35 rims. The hubs are Shimano SLX M7110-B at the front and Shimano MT510-B at the rear, both featuring a Centre Lock system and thru-axles for added stability. Other notable components include the Selle Royal Aidon saddle, the Limotec Dropperpost A1Z seatpost, Curana Apollo 80 aluminium mudguards, an FSA trouser guard, a Pletscher Comp Flex 40 kickstand and an ABUS IT1 battery lock with an XPlus cylinder.

The I-Rack system luggage rack with spring-loaded flap offers practical transport options. The handlebars are aluminium MTB risers with a diameter of 31.8 mm, complemented by an adjustable Zecure UP2+ stem. The bike’s geometry comprises a seat tube length of 470 mm, a reach of 460 mm, a stack of 639 mm, and head tube and seat tube angles of 66 and 74 degrees respectively, which contribute to a balanced riding position. The wheelbase is 1256 mm, which gives the bike stability and control.
