As the Hercules GmbH As recently announced, there are problems with the forks on the Rob Fold SL electric folding bike from the current model year. More specifically, with the carbon fibre ones. These can “fail under certain circumstances, which may result in a loss of steering control.” In other words: the forks can break – and you really don’t want to imagine what would happen then.
The recall affects all Hercules Rob Fold SL e-bike models fitted with a rigid carbon fork. These are:
So if you own a bike like this, or know anyone who does, please leave it as it is and under no circumstances use it any more! Instead, contact your local Hercules dealer or get in touch with the manufacturer directly:
This is because: there is a replacement available. The affected Rob Fold SL electric folding bikes with a carbon fork can be exchanged for a slightly heavier Hercules Rob Fold with an aluminium fork (F5, R5, SUV, 9) or another equivalent electric bike from Hercules. However, anyone who is dissatisfied with this option may also return the bikes, including the battery and charger, in exchange for a refund of the purchase price.
