Focus Whistler 3.6

The 2022 Focus Whistler 3.6 is a versatile mountain bike suitable for a range of riding styles. Priced at 749 EUR, it offers excellent value for money for both beginners and more experienced riders. The bike’s frame is made from 6061 aluminium using 3D forging technology and is designed for disc brakes. The internal cable routing ensures a clean, tidy look, whilst the post-mount mount for 160 mm brakes guarantees reliable braking performance. The maximum rider weight is 110 kg, with the bike itself weighing in at 14 kg.

The Whistler 3.6 is fitted with Alhonga HT474 hydraulic disc brakes, which provide safe deceleration with a 180 mm front rotor and a 160 mm rear rotor. The gear system consists of the Shimano Altus M2000 system with nine speeds, controlled by Shimano SL-M2010 shift levers, offering a total of 27 gears. The drivetrain is complemented by a KMC X9 chain. The SR Suntour NVX30 fork, with 100 mm of travel, ensures comfort and control on uneven terrain.

The crankset is a Shimano MT101, whilst the cassette is a Shimano HG200; both are also 9-speed. The bike features aluminium riser handlebars 720 mm wide, fitted to a 60 mm stem with a 6-degree angle. The Schürmann YAK 21 rims are fitted with Kenda Booster tyres in size 56-622 and are mounted on KT hubs.

Riding comfort is ensured by the VELO VL3378 saddle, which is mounted on an aluminium seatpost with a diameter of 27.2 mm. In terms of geometry, the Whistler 3.6 offers a reach of 475 mm and a stack of 667 mm. The top tube measures 666 mm, with a head tube angle of 68 degrees and a seat tube angle of 74 degrees. The head tube is 160 mm long, whilst the chainstay length is 450 mm. The bottom bracket drop is 60 mm, the fork offset is 51 mm and the crank length is set at 170 mm. The bike’s overall wheelbase is 1220 mm, which contributes to stable handling. Overall, the Focus Whistler 3.6 is a well-equipped mountain bike that is suitable for both everyday use and sporty rides.
